Harry Redknapp is set to land Cardiff midfielder Jordon Mutch for £5million. The QPR boss is also poised to pull off a coup with a season-long loan for Juventus World Cup wideman Mauricio Isla. The 26-year-old Chilean can play on the right or left of midfield and also at full-back. Redknappâs swoop for Mutch means he has pinched the 22-year-old from under the nose of Sunderland boss Gus Poyet, who had a bid rejected for the player. Mutch, who scored against Chelsea and Liverpool last season, netted seven times for Cardiff. He has a year left on his contract and the Bluebirds wanted to hold on to him. .......... ....... Ffs this windows really starting to do my heed in. Looks like weve missed out YET again on one of our targets!
This is getting pretty f*****g annoying. We can't even hold on to players that we already own let alone pull off any exciting transfers. We'll just have to wait and see what happens I suppose. Just feel like my optimism is being drained a tiny bit each day. It'd be nice, just once, if someone that we were linked with and I really wanted to sign, did actually sign. Hardly ever happens. Sorry for the moan.
This window is starting to bore me now like! I'm not even bothering reading headline gossip about 'player linked' or 'so and so having talks with poyet' anymore! Until I see something like 'forward signs 4 year contract' I'm not even bothering opening the link!
TBH mate, I suspect that people who get all wound up by the media tittle-tattle actually secretly enjoy it. I suspect they're office-dwellers who's only conversations are discussing the minutiae of life, "Did you notice Sandra's make up this morning, looks like she got ready in a hurry this morning, wouldn't surprise me if .......... "
Not sure that argument holds up mate really. Correct me if I`m wrong but I think there was only Colback we wanted to keep. All the others we wanted rid and there`s more (Graham, et al) to be shifted. Shows just how much rubbish we`d collected and they have to go first to create the space. Agree it seems to be taking an age to replace them but, plenty of time yet.
I was mainly referring to Colback, and possibly Wickham but that one could go either way. I know Colback is a little bit limited but personally I would have really liked to keep him, and the manner in which he left didn't help. As you say there's still plenty of time. I trust Poyet just haven't seen enough of Congerton yet to be certain he's the one.
http://m.sunderlandecho.com/sport/s...-battle-for-sunderland-target-mutch-1-6764543 Losing out by £1.5m
If we are after Mutch he should have been signed a month ago. Sunderland always do the same thing in transfer windows.
If he goes to QPR ahead of us then it's for one thing and tgat is not "football". If he'd rather play in front of <20000 every week then **** him. I'd rather him not be here
The thing is though Marcus he hasn`t had a choice and if we`re not prepared to meet the clubs valuation he won`t get one. If we`re even and he chooses someone else that`s fine. I can accept that but to lose out for the sake of £1.5m seems daft to me.
Obviously the line has to be drawn somewhere Smug but, as we`ve already put a bid in, we must think he`s worth a go. Failing to meet the clubs valuation doesn`t even give us a chance.
I agree mate, it's a bloody minefield. I'd like to see Mutch here but perhaps we're looking at better/cheaper or whatever ........ who knows eh?
@SAFCsource Cardiff rejected QPR's £5m bid for Jordon Mutch but Redknapp is expected to return with a bid of £6m+ this week http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jordon-mutch-bid-cardiff-city-7551890 ‪#‎SAFC‬
