Guys- this is the Daily Mail. I.E they make up fairy stories to fill up their pages. Lamps will not play for any club in the UK and will rejoin CFC in an unknown ,as yet, role when his playing career comes to an end!
You've got an Arsenal reject in Fabregas, he said he'd only ever play for Arsenal in the premier league. I guess when it comes to it, these players aren't as loyal as they like to make out to be.
Meh! I guess would describe my feeling about this. Obviously not too happy that he is playing for another PL club, but at the end of the day he is too old to make much of a difference in terms of playing power. And you gotta think he wont figure for them too much in the league anyway. He was struggling to play 2 games a week for us for the last couple seasons. I think this is more of a CL move. 1, to flesh out their homegrown roster, and 2, he has more CL experience than the rest of their squad combined. So I think thats probably the idea behind this. Though to reiterate my first point....it doesnt exactly make me happy
For the last 20-30 years kissing the badge has meant as much as putting your arm up in salute when you score, it means very, very little.
I must be the only one of us who doesn't give a ****. Why would you play in the A league if you get the chance to play in the Prem again? You wouldn't. He's 36, he'll barely get a game and we released him for a reason.
I was going to write asking how people feel about the lack of any farewell from Chelsea for Lamps. Guess he's answered for me. He has no option but to play where his contract specifies. We let him go, probably rightly, Man City / New York took him on. It's their call. He' only going wherever it is to get fit for New Yorks season beginning March. I was hoping it would be Melbourne Heart, like Villa, which is just 2 kms from my home, but City think differently. Thats the way the Mercedes Bends. Good luck to him wherever he goes. I lived very close to him in Chelsea for 5 years, and he was always a friendly, thoughtful neighbour and very decent bloke.
