"Their religious holyland" from 1000 BC? makes me , the most pathetic reason to go slaughtering civilians As if since the earth was created only "their people" lived there. Talk about delusional religious fever. I guess the American Indians have the right to slaughter all the immigrants in the US by that reasoning. Can someone tell me which other group has a right to land they claim their people came from thousands of years ago, some Israelis are even delusional enough to claim they can trace their families to back then
Israel wants all of the land and the last few remaining Palestinians on their knees. Why else do they throw a f**ing fit when Palestine looks for further UN membership, it's f**ing obvious. If Palestine ever becomes a member state, Israel cannot do ****ing anything, this is why at all costs they try prevent Palestine becoming a state and joining the UN
Back in the days of Franco Germany's own right wing fascist leader was planning the slaughter of European Jews, in the modern day jewish state of Israel right wing fascists are slaughtering Muslims, yet the fascists from different era's aren't portrayed in the same light. The centuries old conflict might have began on religious grounds but today its about murderous slaughter based on greed for territory and resources with an added ethnic cleansing policy.
The point I was making in response to DD's comment was that history is written by the victors and is also changed to suit the views at the time it is written. It is very difficult to establish exactly what has happened in the past in any great detail. It is easy to say who has won a major war, but often more difficult to get to the truth of a particular event in that war. Therefore although various papers may call for anyone joining the IDF to be punished upon their return to the UK, if we became a Muslim country ( I know its not a possibility, just using the argument to make a point), those same people would be regarded as heroes.
See where you're coming from gb, but if the war over there spilled onto the streets over here and kids were blown to pieces the perception of those fighting in Israel's corner would obviously change amid the outrage. But the saying "not in my back yard" seems appropriate at the moment.
Cowardly chicken s**ts go to fight for Israel. It's a turkey shoot for f**s sake. An easy option where the risk of death it pretty f**ing slim, in the last intifada the Israelis killed the same amount of their own as Hamas did. 5 each for 1400 dead on the other side. What is it now, 40 IDF out of what, 30,000 or more? Yet to be discovered if any of those were freindly fire too. I don't think anyone will be allowed in to fight for Palestinians, and if the UK gov heard citizens were going to fight for the other side, those who did would be charged with terrorism probably or detained before leaving
The UK government are trying to arrest anyone who tries to fight for the IDF. I assume they would take the same stance if people tried to leave to fight for Hamas. It might be a bit naive to suggest they would try and stop people going to Israel as people could say they were going as tourists, but no one would be going to Syria as a tourist or Iraq. There again as the Israelis have the upper hand in a massive way there would be no point in going to fight for them, unless you got your kicks by killing unarmed civilians
Perhaps it's even more cowardly to merely sit on a computer making totally biased posts. So why don't you go to Gaza and fight for Hamas if your convictions are so strong? What has the actions and/or reactions of HMG got to do with you? BTW the biggest standing army in the world belongs to The People's Republic of China and not Israel - but don't let facts get in the way of a bit more ranting!
If you ever go to a place called Waitangi in the North Island of New Zealand you may be lucky enough to meet some fascinating and warm people called Maoris who claim just that, dating back about @800 years ago. They don't wish to kill anyone else though (except when playing rugby), despite the ferocious dance. They may ask you to sing a folk song back to them - I chose Poor Scouser Tommy, much to my Kiwi girlfriend's mortification. Point is, all around the planet people have religious and/or aboriginal claims to lands that don't always bear scrutiny. I mean, who the hell are the 'English'? Certainly not the Anglo-saxons or Normans who arrived millennia after the celts. Even in Ireland itself, the late Robert Kee, Irish historian and broadcaster, estimated that only @ 40% of the population were actually descendants of the true, aboriginal first settlers of the island. Give the Jocks their due - their election on independence involves current residents of that country and not necessarily people who reckon they can trace back their heritage a 1000 years but don't live there anymore (tee-hee Sean Connery and Alan Cummings).
TBF Sis, joining Isis to slaughter Shi'ites and innocent civilians in their multitudes isn't exactly charging the cannons at Balaclava.
Don't get the Maoris wrong. Whilst their favoured reaction was to negotiate coexistence, they were not afraid to participate in conflict. Ever come across The Mongrel Mob?
No, but they ****ed 'our' arse in the ill-reported conflict in the mid-19th century, and they thought they'd won and that the Treaty of Waitangi was the British surrendering NZ to them in return for settling/mineral/fishing concessions in exchange for international defence.
Aye , Britain is whiter than white in N.I. not only didnt the british army kill people on some random sunday, but they didnt kill numerous unarmed children either. A great bunch of lads who gave flowers to the women and beer to the men. Wrong.
He's right Hash. You may not like it but the IRA's political wing have never represented the majority of people of the island of Ireland or what became the Republic. Therefore the wishes of the majority were subsumed to the desires to of a clique. But don't let that fact spoil a good story but then the Irish 'history' makers have never let that happen have they eg those nasty evil English absentee landlords who threw good Irish people off the land but who, in reality were majorly Irish landlords.
You are seriously having a laugh afcftw, "**** trying to pin any blame on the British" The unquestionable murderous atrocities by the British on Irish soil over centuries contributed to the republican fight and cause, if you believe the British share no blame in the troubles on the island of Ireland you're an idiot or a paid up member of the EDL, there was also a bombing campaign by "British" citizens against the Irish nation, pity you never balanced your comment by condemning them also. Just like people justify Israel's slaughter but condemn the response from Gaza you don't look at both sides of the dispute.
There was also a far larger campaign of bombings by British citizens in the name of Republicanism against other British citizens both on the island of Ireland and in mainland UK. The Irish carry an equal responsibility for atrocities committed on British and Irish soil so let's not get carried away with any idea that this was a one-way street. To that degree the situations between the two conflicts remain very similar.
There are no British citizens born in Northern Ireland. The Nordies who want to remain under british rule are still not british. Great Britain and Northern Ireland form the UK. But Northern Ireland is not part of Britain. Hence why you hear Rodgers, McIlroy, McDowell, Barry McGuigan, Carl Frampton, A.P.McCoy all referred to as the Irishman or the Ulsterman but never as British.
