After just reading the thread about Lampard going to Man City on loan etc, made me wonder if what they are doing is a good or bad way forward for football. What i mean is a big club like Man City, being in a group with others, whether all owned by the same person or whatever arrangement. But would this be similar to what Greg Dyke was suggesting. Could younger players go out on "loan" to the other clubs as Lampard is doing but maybe the other way, to get their experience and give them game time to develop. I'm sure there are positives and negatives to it but what do others think about whether this could be a way forward for football in general?
I don't think you should be able to own two clubs full stop. It's totally wrong that teams can get a whole new team from a parent club like Watford did the other year.
Yeah Watford's Italian backup was a bit of a joke and I'd hate to see the game become even more of a money cock waving contest than it already is. Smells too much like franchising for me
exactly we had first hand, fair enough new york aren't in the same league but it still gives their youngsters a free access to a good competitive league not on ****ing arab oil money ****s i know quite a fair few man city fans from years ago, my old pal at school was a pass holder and he gave me his pass one day, went to see man city v blackburn, when man city were like us, saw ben burgess in the concourse while he had that horrific injury v huddersfield i'm not a fan of the premier league anyway
