Id be happy with Brown but not O'Shea

Countless times last season O'Shea lost his man at Set Pieces and a lot of the time they were crucial, for example Jonny Evans in the Semi final at Old Trafford

Looking more and more like we are going to have to rely on these two unfortunately however

They're like a couple of characters from Last Of the Summer Wine.

Reminds me of my favourite headline following Caledonian Thistle's defeat of Celtic some years ago
"Super Cali go Ballistic Celtic are Atrocious" - genius.
Would like to see both phased out and replaced by younger models. They can still play a massive role in helping bring replacements through and sharing their experience.

Thankfully, the way we play with a holding mid means that a lack of pace at CB is somewhat mitigated.

Only real issue with it is with a long ball over the top. the midfield closing down will usually stop them playing through the middle.

(I say that, but I actually don't have a clue what I'm talking about)

Perhaps with quick fullbacks these two will get us through the season, a lot depends on maintaining our end of season form.

Exactly my feelings mate ......... I thought the centre-backs distributed the ball quite well towards the end of the season.

Two new defenders, out of 4, will do me tbh .... I don't like the idea of going into a season with a totally new back line.

Strange as how time blurs the thinking..

O'Shea, ok at the end, but as a whole of the season, utter ****...

When he was the main man I agree - couldn't handle the pressure and too slow of mind and deed. With Wes doing the thinking JOS still looks good.

They do play better together I agree, as they should considering they know each other so well, this position is all about partnerships and it is a case of the whole (no pun intended) being greater than the sum of its parts.
