Up here in America Lite, there are a lot expat Europeans and South Americans. I have had arguments with Canadians saying football will be the number one sport in 10-20 years in Canada. Which pisses the Canadians off good and proper, as with some its ice hockey or nothing.
Vancouver Whitecaps don't really have a superstar in their ranks unless you count Nigel Reo-Coker, but still get 30K plus each home game, which is helped by the expats. At lot will come down to the cost of the parents paying for their kid's kit. a pair of boots and a pair of shinners versus skates, helmet, sticks, pads. All of which will have to bought every 12-18 months or so as the kid grows. And there seems to be a lot of football pitches, and I mean proper footballs pitches, not like Cringle Fields behind McVities, covered in dog ****, glass and all cut up after some scrote had done doughnuts in a stolen Corsa, which all seem to be well looked after.

They can't get their head round the fact a sporting event can be a draw, very strange concept over there so I'm led to believe

I am more concerned that if "soccer" takes off in the USA, the marketing guys will go to town. With huge stadiums, this will eventually lead to a drain on the best players, as wages in the USA will be too
    tempting.

With Real Madrid's poor ICC form against Man U's form, I believe this match will go to Manchester United.

And I am rooting for a Manchester Derby for the final!

Lack of teams will scupper that, who wants to play against Boston Pink socks, when you can play against UTD or Real Madrid.

Just hope I am wrong HRH. But Yank money and the way that they hype up and sell a new item could result in a drain of Europe's (and South America's) football talent.
