Anyone see this at 6am this morning on SSN? David Mountaine @davidmo87 We understand Liverpool are closing in on a £20m deal to sign Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno - full story from 6am on #SSN Transfer Central TNC @transfernewscen Sky Sports Sources: Liverpool are closing in on a £20m deal to sign Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno RT @MessiMinutes: According to @TonyBarretTimes, #LFC could complete the signings of Spanish FBs Alberto Moreno & Javi Manquillo very soon
Manquillo could be our more attacking RB option and Flanagan our more defensive RB option. Good options to have. Moreno and Enrique are good options for the left side. I'm not sure if either of these new signings will go into our first 11.
Seems that he's been our top target all along then. I reckon all the gas about others was just smoke and mirrors to see who blinked first on the valuation. Have no idea how good he is but am glad that we're not settling for our third or fourth choice. Sign these two and we are two players short of a potentially great squad imo. Bring me shaq and masch and I'll be buying a case of kleenex. Have to say though, 8 to 10 players additions is gunna take some bedding in! It may be a bumpy ride what with all others strengthening too!
Moreno will surely be straight into the first team.....I can't see us splashing that kind of money to bench him tbh
It's more sloppy journalism as the price is £16m (20mil Eur.), and is the same offer that we lodged a month back which Sevilla have now accepted (having realised we're not budging) I think Moreno will be a definite starter.
Moreno will start for sure. He and Lovren will hopefully sure us up a bit. Still want us to get Shaqiri and a striker though.
No because he's only 21. We're spending £20m on the future and at minimum a decent option for now. He may need some time to settle and adjust.
Perhaps not, but this: I don't know enough about him to know how much of a prospect he is, but if he has got real potential then perhaps he's worth it. I've said this before, but if we buy cheap squad fillers, then someone complains- if we buy for the future someone complains we're overpaying. Can't win really. A certain amount of rotation is likely given the number of games we're (hopefully) going to have to play. We can only play 11 at a time, so do we want the back-up to be of a comparable standard to the starters, or will we be content with decent second-stringers? If we want a strong squad as opposed to a numerous one, aren't we going to have to fork out for it? I doubt that FSG will throw their money about wantonly after the previous debacle, so I'm confident some thought has gone into our targets, it's just that no matter what we do, someone will be unhappy because it's not what they themselves would have chosen.
