All these speculations as to where Rose could play are also true with regard Davies. He could also play as a winger or play CB.
In a strange coincidence of timing, Danny Rose's younger brother Mitch has signed a loan deal with Crawley Town today from Rotherham. He's only 20 and probably needs the game time, so it seems like a good day for the Rose family, barring unnecessary social media stick.
The Official Twitter: We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with Sporting Lisbon for the transfer of Eric Dier, subject to a medical.
Eric Dier is a medical away from being a Spurs player: https://twitter.com/SpursOfficial/status/494931985979432960
Pochettino has had the benefit of 18 months seeing our 'scouting department's' files. I think most Saints fans would be expecting a few of our 'secret' targets to come up on the Spur's radar. Dier gets good reviews from what I hear.
We tried to sign him when he was 16. http://www.sport.co.uk/football/sporting-beat-off-competition-to-sign-english-wonderkid/36629 Pretty sure we already knew about him before Pochettino joined!
Looks like a great bit of Levying, too: reports say £4m, and we somehow talked them out of a sell-on fee!
Probably did. That's not what I meant however maybe his influence has pushed it more to the fore here? I seem to remember the name popping up for the last couple of seasons since we reached the Prem. I doubt we were looking at that level of players too much before we got promoted again.
It seems his contract had a 5 million release clause and Eric said even if another club would pay more than €5m he only wanted to go to Tottenham.
Good signing? Bad signing? Who knows, I do hope we're going to sign an experienced centre back at somepoint though.
€5m = £3.9m We saved an extra hundred grand - plus we have some potential ammunition for the Mouser Watch... @calnadrak Who? @calnadrak Better than Vlad Crunches then? @calnadrak Sounds about right for Spurs...
Rumours saying we are getting Mateo Musacchio from Villareal: if they get Maicon and then we sell Jan to Barca.
Dier seems like an excellent signing for the price. With luck he'll turn out better than some defenders who have gone for much more money...I'm pleased he wanted to come here. It either means he cares about the club, or is determined to work his socks off for an eventual Real transfer--though Danny Rose, surely, is the one on the horizon.
Vlad the Impaler, Vertonghen, Kaboul, Dawson and Dier..... if things stay the same. A fair bit of experience but a lot of uncertainty. Certainly around Kabouls fitness and Vertonghen being a twat again. I'd keep Dawson as a role-model, leader on the training pitch/tutor type player. Will get the odd game against teams who lack pace up front as he is still a good old-fashioned type centre back who can deal with the rough-stuff. Is it good enough? Not sure but wouldn't mind us getting Lascelles from Forest, loaning him straight back and bringing him in to replace Dawson next season. Keep the old Forest Centre Back connection going.
