7.30 Newmarket. YAIR HILL 7-1. First run since October and early money for this tonight looks very interesting.......
SOLID JUSTICE 2.55 Thirsk 6/1 is a winning handicapper in waiting. Trainer won this race a couple of years ago and looks to me to have targeted this one for a follow up. They have had a recent winner and I think this one will strike!
I would have put up OUR CHANNEL at Goodwood tomorrow but I see he's Pricewise selection and I wouldn't want to be accused of sponging!!!! Looks really well treated dropping back in trip and 3yo's have a fair record in this! Pricewise tomorrow are as follows: 1.55 Cafe Society 2.30 Hors De Combat 3.05 Red Avenger, Our Channel
Extorniost and Lightning Thunder both 5/1 should be absolute bankers, but considering the **** form Olly is in i'm not so confident, only good thing is they are both stables stars, both better than any other horses in their races and that useless prick spencer is on board neither. Moore on Extorniost as well, so i'll forget ollys crap form and back both. £50 win singles, £20 win double.
Friday’s card opens with a fascinating encounter containing several under-achievers and a Classic winner returning from a very long lay-off. Battle Of Marengo has shown no sign of retaining last year’s form and Songcraft seems to put his best foot forward very rarely these days. Pether’s Moon chased home Cavalryman last time and at this level has the form to win; but the real key to this race is the fitness of Encke and that can only be judged when he is seen. So this looks one just to watch. With all the jockeys Godolphin contract, why is William Buick on the St Leger winner? There is Classic form on display in the second race but from this year not 2012. Shifting Power was fourth at Newmarket and second at The Curragh, which ought to be good enough in a Group 3. I backed Lightning Thunder when she was a no-show at Royal Ascot and I think the English and Irish 1000 Guineas runner-up is worth a chance to atone. In the big Mile handicap, can Saturday’s big handicap winner Heavy Metal complete a hat-trick under just a three pound penalty? There has to be every chance although he is not at the bottom of the weights and unfancied this time. Bronze Angel is fitted with a visor after disappointing there, as did Horsted Keynes. When Velox won at Sandown last time he went in the notebook as one possibly going places and Luca Cumani’s record placing horses in handicaps is well documented, so he may be burdened with my money. The King George Stakes may be a numerically competitive field but I can draw a line through many of the upgraded handicappers and there are a couple of form lines here that narrow it down very quickly. Firstly, I do not fancy July Cup runner-up Tropics dropping back a furlong as that was far-and-away the best form he has ever produced and I think it was a fluke. Last year’s winner Moviesta will do better than him here and reverse Newmarket form. Secondly, the key form here comes from the Sandown race where Kingsgate Native, Wind Fire, Stepper Point and Hay Chewed all followed home Extortionist and I think they will all have a view of his rear again as he successfully steps up to Group 2 level. My worry here is that I have got two of Olly Stevens’ charges and he would not be high on my list of trainers to have a double at this fixture.
Still shows as 25-1 on Oddschecker, but Corals website has it at 12's My shilling is on Magic City 11-1 though ....... Taking a chance on the fitness of Enke in the opener 4-1, Reprochement 15-2 in the 2-30, and Demora 16-1 in the KG
I dont post often! My advice is dont follow my tips. Im a fav backer for interest and fun! HOWEVER the site is for us all! Stick throughs his thoughts in and puts his name to them! I have missed him when he hasnt offered an opinion! Attivo I <applaud> you for the effort and time taken to put together the thread! To those that are against it! Simply put yours up before his or leave him to edit it! Whilst I dont post often I applaud you all regularly! the KNOWLEDGE INSIGHT INTERPRETATION of form (horse jockey stable) is 2nd to none and is given gratis. yes sometimes egos get involved but this site is BETTER for everyone to maintain their input. I am approx £36K of fictional money down following Ron, I am approximately 14 stone of fictious lunchtime overeating closer to death and am 14 seasons into GLEE without seeing a horse reference. So in short CHILL guys! Take from it what you will ignore what you disagree with! RANT OVER
Don't think Goodwood has been much of a spectacle at all this week from the big races I have watched. Only one that looks interesting tomorrow and that is TROPICS 7/1 in the Group 2 sprint at 3.40. He has been flying very high in Group 1 sprints since the back end of last year, and was bang back to form last time out when chasing home Slade Power. Tropics has never run at 5f but he looks made for it- always making good headway in races but not always seeing it out over 6f. I think it could bring about an improvement in form for dropping in trip and he certainly won't lack at the finish over 5f tomorrow. 7/1 is a fair price too, but this is not a race (or a festival for that matter) where you want to be going mad.
If you can put a line through Queen Catrine's last run(I can) she was only a short head behind 5/2 favourite Muteela Giving 7lbs. Off levels now, she has every chance of reversing that form. This race is 1f shorter but 7/1 is a fair price to me.
Mark Johnston highlighted Muteela (4.50) as his best chance of the week. Unbeaten in four starts, if she's allowed her own way in front she will, as always with runners from this yard, be very hard to pass. 9/4 generally.
Still jumping on the Olly bandwagon to the poor house? I hope Lightning Thunder wins, but I fear that she may have left her season on the unsuitable ground at the Curragh. The fact they changed jockey for Royal Ascot really rankled with me, Harry rode a really good race on her in the Guineas and did little wrong over in Ireland. Then she got found out off a slow pace at the Royal meeting. Extortionist isn't one for me today, I think he was flattered last time out and I can't see the cards falling as well for him today. I really think that these sprint races could well be won by anything in the field and I do like Stepper Point on his Kings Stand run (and Goodwood should suit).
5.10 Galway Orgilgo Bay 10/3 8.25 Galway Forgotten Rules 8/11 I've done the double which pays 6.5/1. Good luck lads.
Morning All. Two today, both @ Glorious Goodwood. 2-30,Wannabe yours,Win. 3-40,Extortionist, Win. Good luck to all.
CASPIAN PRINCE is probably my favourite horse on the flat this season so I am a bit surprised that he is available at 18/1 for the 3.40 at Goodwood today. he bolted up at Epsom in April and then followed this up with a win in the Derby Day Dash. If you ignore his defeat on soft ground then the only horse to have beaten him this year is Sir Maximillian who beat him first at Chester and then more recently at the Curragh. with Adam Kirby again riding, and on a course that should play to his strengths this for me is the each way bet of the meeting
