Maybe we did. We know Pardew's a fan and tried to get him last season on loan but he chose Everton. There's every possibility we have been after him this summer too but after being at Everton for a year already, knowing the players, staff, club, area etc it's not a surprise that the would choose them over us. Not to mention that Everton have consistently finished higher than us over the last umpteen seasons.

Unfortunately he has gone to Everton for a whopping £24 million.

Precisely what the **** does Mourinho think he's doing?!

If he doesn't win the title next season, or the champions league, his reputation should be tarnished forever. He really should have done an awful lot better last season, but the way he's shaping up his squad, by fannying around constantly with the strike-force, he's let all Chelsea's rivals get ahead. And after a while, playing 11 in defence against Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City, and 4-5-1 against teams he expects to beat, looks a lot less like genius, and more like arrogance.

Considered they paid £32m for Costa, I think they've downgraded.

I fail to understand him, he has all the resource available yet seems to be at odds with it, how he is willing to let Lukaku go is a mystery to me, I would have kept him and Ba as both are capable PL strikers, the way he sets his teams up though sometimes you have to wonder if he is as clever as he thinks he is.

In complete agreement chaps. I mean Costa is by no means a poor player, and it's not exactly fair to judge him on his world cup showing, but Lukaku is a very very young striker who can comfortably score 16 goals a season already, and he's like 21. And that's premier league goals, not goal for fun Spain where Diego's been for the last few years. And if memory serves from what I've read about him, he's only had one good season, the last one. The rest of the time he's been a twat with coaches and players and been labelled a badboy.

Any player who refuses to play for his team in case he gets injured isn't one I'd want. Did we still pay his wages when he did that?

It's a fair question. However, think how quickly clubs and fans discard players, throw them by the wayside, cast them into a ditch beside the road that will almost certainly not provide enough cover to prevent a lurking weirdo like Bri humping at the corpse by nightfall.

It's all a balance. Would you rather an honest person, who sees a short career in the game and wants to make the best of it, or a badge-kisser playing to the crowd, but equally as likely to f*** when the opportunity is handed to them?

I advocate admiring great players while they're here, and celebrating their success, rather than holding grudges. That's my personal philosophy I made up three seconds ago.

All the rumours are that we are all out for Remy now. Apparently he has been left out of the QPR squad for their Ireland preseason tour, Pardew has been quoted as saying that NUFC have made an offer and it's up to QPR and Remy, NUFC are set to have further talks in London tomorrow with QPR and Remy, Remy is impressed with our summer recruitment and finally NUFC hope/expect to have his signing wrapped up by early next week. Shame twitter isn't the most reliable place for news!

One defender is all we need, unless MYM is suddenly what we thought he should be.

    Surprised you're saying that Roland.
Ashley's getting away with doing the bare minimum, spending next to nothing.

Is that if we were to sign Remy, or do you not think we need another striker?

I'd say we need a guaranteed goal getter first and foremost, closely followed by a dominant CB. A proper replacement for Cabaye would be the icing on the cake if the first two were taken care of.

I don't think we'll ever get a replacement for cabs. He didn't fit our system very well. He was a great player which helped. I think de Hong will be better suited in that role.

On Twitter it's saying that QPR have accepted a £13m bid from us. He was £8.5 for Liverpool, surely we aren't that desperate. I think he's using us as a last resort cause the real big clubs are not knocking on his door.
