Yes he's had big moments but few players of Gerrard's level have dropped so many game changing clangers in big matches.
Stevie me wasn't too keen to caress the camera at Palace when they were filming poor little Luis in tears.
Every single person on the planet slips at some point in their life Said the dalek climbing off the dustbin
Stevie the RS has slipped so many times in key games that it is almost impossible to recall all of them. BUt he has been KEY in 1. Destroying the RS chances of a first premiership title. It is fair to say that without that slip the RS would have gone on to win the title. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory... 2. Singlehandedly led to England being kicked out of the WC. Again without his mistake England would still have had a chance to progress and not have been kicked out at such an early stage. I am glad he is still playing for the RS. If it comes to a tight finish next season involving the RS, we can all be assured that they will crumble thanks to Stevie...
Not really all that much for a fifteen year plus career. Two great performances against Olympiakos and West Ham and one goal in a CL final? Scoring against Alves and Barthez is hardly the mark of a champion! Won't deny he's a great player, but he's choked more than he's shone in the big games imo. Has anyone yet mentioned the 2007 CL final where he was sent clean through to equalise and shanked it into the keeper's arms?
Wasn't it Mandy Rice_Davies who made the famous line in the Profumo trial when she was asked about a comment by Steven Ward "Well he would say that would't he?" Same applies to Stevie Me.
Apparently he also slipped in the match last night, giving City an easy goal. Not many people slip twice in such similar circumstances. What do they say about 'fool me once'?
