We have downsized to the point of being nowhere. In the most important match of the season we start with a guy who has had 1(?) training session with the team
No wonder lennon walked. This result has been coming. We can't keep selling our best players and expect the same results.
Disagree that display was worse than Bratislva, that night they had 5 shots and scored 5 goals , we controlled the game . Tonight we got a doing , and the manager didn't have a clue how to change it . Mulgrew was involved in about every incident that went against us, a celtic captain !!!! Never
I am glad I didn't set the alarm for it. I don't blame delia for it. We are where we are because of the poor league we play in and the right ship honest pete runs. The last few years he has gambled and only made signings when we qualify for the champs league. At least this will give him the excuse he wants to sell vvd and ff. Even if we made the cl we would have been embarrassed given the qualty in the team. As I said earlier I will take no cl if it genuinely means that the youngsters get a chance
Can I just remind you , your old club won 1 of its last 30 european ties , in fact Malmo was nearly the last nail on the coffin of your dead club. Tomorrow when we make up , we're still in Europe something you can only dream off , you need 2 more signed off set of accounts now we really are talking dreams !!!
Everybody chill the **** out, freaky game but I can guarantee the next game will be a belter. We will get a result.
what on earth makes you think that? we are terrible at the back, and will be even worse without ambrose. we have no leadership on the park without broon. we need a defensive midfielder to protect efe. I cannot for the life of me understand why he threw the new guy in tonight
Putting on the new guy seemed crazy, guess he doesnt fancy any of the other strikers. The players on the field shouldve done better to shut up shop when we went down to 10 men though.
Before he got injured Biton last season looked the defensive midfielder this team needs . Looks if the manager has made his mind up on certain players before they've even had a chance.
Ahm no havin' that! Replace him with a traffic cone for the 2nd leg and it would be an improvement. Last night was one of those games that let the manager see who's fit to wear the jersey and who isn't - much like the Scottish Cup semi-final defeat that Lennon suffered when he was new to the job. Maybe it was a mistake playing the new guy in such an important game but Deila seems like a manager willing to take risks and I have no problem with that. It wasn't the manager's fault last night - you can't blame him for the likes of Mulgrew being unable to control a simple pass or Commons having one of his worst games in a Celtic top. The defence was a vastly experienced one which was made to look amateurish although the midfield has to take a large share of the blame for being unable to maintain possession of the ball. Deila's strength is developing young players. That's going to take time. What last night showed was the poor signing policy that's been going on at Celtic over the past few seasons. In Lennon's first full season we made a number of excellent signings. At the time, it seemed like it was down to good scouting. In reality, it's looking more and more like it was just good luck.
A lot of players we've bought recently never got a chance , Lennon always played his favourites. I noticed in the first games the manager dosn't give protection to his centre backs , madness in today's football when a misjudged last tackle now is a sending off. With these tactics in the Champions league against the good teams we would concede double figures .
The manager will get slated for this, I have no doubt. To some extent I can agree with that - if we had got a good result he wouldve been praised , so, fair enough. In reality though we have a fair amount of extremely mediocre players including a few who millions were spent on who have rarely been given a game. I had initially thought what is he doing playing someone from cardiff in front of our usual strikers ? Then realised he ( berget ) was only getting a game in front of an ex wolves player and an ex hibs player, someone from portugal who has hardly played a game for us, someone from holland who has hardly played a game for us, someone from iceland who has hardly played a game for us ... Maybe not such a gamble after all.
Is it time for Delia to fall on his sword? I've just found out Celtic were playing last night so this result was a surprise. Do they get into the Thursday Jug if they are pumped out by Warsaw?
I accept that he is utter pish but who replaces him? chico? one of the young lads whose names I canny mind?
