89' Sunderland behind in the final minute as Lucas sneaks in to meet a cross from the left and touch a first-time shot beyond Pantilimon, who couldn't do much about it.
Results mean little in preseason games. Only thing that matters is getting a team playing and fit. Makes no odds.
The result is irrelevant. It's more about Gus trying out some of the kids in certain situations, and seeing how they react. If a couple of academy kids impress Gus enough to warrant a first team squad place, then that's a win for me.
Sounds like Mavrias is having a good pre-season.. is there need for Atsu? Would we be better off giving Mavrias & Watmore some game time? Developing our own players
I think watmore neds a year on loan to develop. Mavrias looks ready, but we still need a bit more pace and power in the side. Atsu fits the bill on that score.
I agree, a US tour against the likes of Seattle Sounders, LA Galaxy New York Red bulls etc..The game is gonna take of big time there, and SAFC have in possesion for now, one of their golden boys.. A missed opportunity imo.
@JHunterChron No @JozyAltidore against Vitoria Setubal tonight. But Vito Mannone will get his chance to impress. ‪#‎safc‬ http://bit.ly/1oinMQb
