Heh. Now it's Gareth Rogers providing the comments about the signing. Is there some kind of media duty rota on the wall in the boardroom at St Mary's?

True, Clasie is in between a DM and CM, not an AM but he can play in that role if needed. But he will be uncomfortable in that position as he isn't a playmaker. He's the guy that distributes the ball in midfield. Me personally I'm not to fussed about him, people says he's a top class footballer but I have yet to see what he can actually do. His passing and technique is ok, nothing really special. He is not fast, he's not strong, he doesn't have the vision of a player like Sneijder, lacks intelligence. The only thing he has going for him is his positioning, work rate and tactics(movement on and off the ball).

Forster saved a penalty but Celtic lost 4-1. Van Djik made some good blocks etc

If we're still in for both then it looks like they won't be needed at Celtic for much longer

@SimonPeach: I am expecting the next #SaintsFC transfer business to see Dani Osvaldo join Inter Milan on loan, with Saphir Taïder coming the other way.

Sounds like Telegraph may have been correct in Sporting requesting £16m for Rojo

My positive Kruger spin is that we have no faith in Targett to be ready this season, but we needed someone now as negotiations for other players at non premium prices were going to draw out until the end of the window.

I'm off to go and clutch some straws

That's the worst positive spin ever... :)

    How about:

We think Targett may actually be ready and Bertrand is here as insurance and he'll play as we gradually ease Targett in. Come November he could be marauding down that left flank and actually putting a good cross in, which would be a step further than our £30m left back

Saw this on another forum about Rojo from a Portuguese guy, so signing Bertrand may not have effected that particular deal

Obviously just one persons opinion, but probably one of someone who has seen a lot more of him than most

I did notice at the world cup that his crossing was a little wayward at times. A few overhit and out for goal kicks. I won't give up hope just yet then
