We're looking like signing him on a free transfer, what are your thoughts on him? From people I've spoken to, most seem to think he's still got it, some are glad he's gone and a few would've liked him to stay as back up to the young lad Burn. We've been discussing him on our board and I still think he can do a job, I know many of your players underperformed last season, which isn't surprising given what was going on. Would he be adequate cover for us? Or has he become a liability in the Premier League?
If I recall correctly he has sciatica, which was obviously impeding him last season. If he can get fully fit and playing how he has done in the past, then absolutely he's a great signing. We haven't seen his best for perhaps a couple of years, though.
BH was our mainstay for 5 or more years, but last season "a nightmare" but as Bidley said he had medical problems, but a fit Brede would be an asset in any team. Best of luck to him and yourselves.
Had the injury then made captain - of which he's not vocal enough for CB. Many believe Aaron Hughes did a lot of the mopping up at Fulham and actually made Hangeland look a better defender I believe this too. If you can get him back to his best then handy addition, sad to say he became liability unfortunately we let in 85 goals he was a big part of that.
When people are asking this question I can think of the following parallel... Rio Ferdinand... Great defender, once he got a serious injury all went downhill. Same with Hangeland... Simples!
