Bony will be gone before the window closes , he probably wont be the only one .I love SCFC , but it isnt going to cloud my thoughts .Articles in the media are just the tip of the iceberg as a general rule , time will tell ....19 to 21 for Bony to Arsenal is my guess .That striker they have now played 51 games last season , to much . Arsenal will be knockin for sure ..
I always take what huw or any other club chairman say with a pinch of salt as history tells me they dont tell the whole truth and have a knack of manipulating any question to their own advantage and never really answer anything. The saints chairman was also on today and the saint fans are saying the same thing They must attend the same classes as the politicians to learn how to answer a question without actually saying anything...
Interview here. http://talksport.com/football/exclusive-boost-liverpool-bony-available-right-offer-claims-swansea-chairman-140729104439 He was prompted re Bony but perhaps was a bit too honest. IMHO.
I didn't hear interview but with HJ and Monk saying much the same. Neither had to mention anything beyond he is a Swans player and not for sale. Nothing dishonest about that, any agreement they have with Bony about offers above x amount or from Champion league team can remain private. To me, I am afraid he saying coming and get him. There is no player that does not have price but Managers just and chairmen don't talk about it. I would be happier if they announced he has re-negotiated and extended his contract. That does tend to say hands off.
Huw has told liverpool and others that bony is for sale at the right price so i have not changed my mind from the start that bony will go before the window closes...
We get £15m + borini......bloody hell that's a good deal imo, not only do we make a healthy profit but we also lose our highest wage earner as borini would neve command the same wage as we paid bony....its a win win situation if we are going to lose bony anyway....
Why would we offer them a deal? Let them come to us and then negotiate. If we had to let him go I would prefer Borini plus cash than just cash only because it is a bit late in the day to shop around for a direct replacement and Borinin already knows the club
Listen ffs.I said If we are going to lose Bony anyway. I would rather keep bony but its looking very unlikely we will...
Now that wont surprise me the way they are dropping like flies and its not even competitive like the real thing.
Solid interview from an honest chairman, wouldn't expect less. In essence the interview boiled down to our chairman simply reciting a natural meme (a meaningless phrase used to communicate little if nothing). All HJ said was "everything/one has its/their price". That is a truism which has been absorbed into our collective psyches, it's not a revelation. Strangely though, a few, translated this as an invitation to all to come and take Bony away from poor little Swansea. What the few failed to notice is what HJ didn't say, many things are said through omission and the important things Huw didn't say include: Saying Bony was for sale, Giving a price on Bony's head, surely he would have done this if he wanted Bony sold, He didn't define Bony's value/worth TO US, which he would have done if he was trying to squeeze out a decent bid, He didn't say he'd personally accept any offer at all.... ....but what he did say was, that if an offer was big enough and came from a big enough club, that he'd pass the offer to Bony for him alone to decide. That is the classiest thing I've heard any chairman say, ever. It shows the respect HJ has for our players and for Bony in particular, respect none would get anywhere else in football, the most mercenary of businesses bar none. In saying that HJ, imo, oozed confidence, that Bony is happy here and it would take an awful lot to prize him away from us. It too was a beautiful way to tell a player that he is respected and loved, things obviously important to Bony. It shows HJ has faith in Bony to make a good decision, may not be the one we want but Bony's future is entirely up to him. I'll stick my neck out, Bony is going nowhere, nowhere unless a massive, mutually beneficial, over the top bid comes in for him. It will take more than an ordinary bid for Bony to leave and I see him remaining a Jack for years. You'll not find another chairman like HJ, he's made mistakes and will continue to do so but, essentially he is the best thing that has ever happened to the Swans ever. Look over your shoulders to see where we've come from, then look ahead at where we're going, exciting isn't it?. We are still on the ride of our lives and I thank the great wizard in the sky that Huw is in the driving seat.
Stumpy, I feel sorry that after such an eloquent, well thought-out post, this is the response you get. Tragic.
But you want us to tell Liverpool that they can have Bony for £15 million and Borini? Why should we actively try and sell our main asset? Oh and I strill think Borini plus £15 million wouldn't be a great deal. Any deal involving Borini would have to also include at least £20 million as part of the deal. Don't be as naive as Sunderland in thinking Borini is worth £14 million.
