Who was the first Hull born footballer to score a goal at Wembley?

How many Hull born footballers have scored a goal at Wembley? Can you name them?

I guess it should count. But maybe should be first adult male to score then as well. What about first Hull footballer to score a goal in a cup final at Wembley?

Cottingham isn't in the City boundary, so would guess not.

If the question had been--" Who was the first ex Hull City Schoolboy player to score a goal in the FA Cup Final at Wembley I could have answered that. The same player holds a unique goalscoring record in the FA Cup too but I had to be told about that!

Barmby scored a pen against the Brummies in a League Cup Final whilst playing for Liverpool. Does that count?

You win the chocolates. Alex Dawson is also the only player to have scored 3 goals in an FA Cup semi-final. My husband played with him when he was trialling for a place in the Hull City Schoolboy team.

According to my husband he was born in Scotland and came to Hull with his family when he was 13 or so and was at Endyke?High when he played for Hull City Schoolboys. Much effort was made by Hull City to sign him as an apprentice but Manchester United beat them to it. His big chance came following the Munich air disaster. Apparently for that match he was a non-travelling reserve.

Well I really don't think that any of you have thought about this hard enough. It's local history and you should all be ashamed of yourselves. Bad not606ers.
