Agree with that, although I'm very doubtful they'll both be match fit within a fortnight. With regards to transfers though, there aren't many better in the game in turning unlikely transfers into signings than Redknapp. If he can bag Leroy Fer, 1 more Striker, another winger and some competition at Right back for Simpson then we've got a competitive squad I think. Don't be surprised to see some loans come in either. I'd be looking at Arsenal's inflated midfield and making some loan offers. Serge Gnbary would be a start. Wide player with pace and technical ability.
Agree with you 100% again. Adel looked fit enough when he was with Milan and Remy seemed in shape at the WC, though he didn't have to play too much! But handled right it didn't take Adel long to get fit in Italy, so no reason why we can't do the same.
While I agree that deals being done without too much rumour and press involvement is a plus the fact remains that as things stand we are on the verge of going into yet another campaign with a hugely inadequate selection of strikers. If the very obvious lessons lessons of the past few seasons have been learned this surely should have been priorities 1, 2 and 3 for the club but the very best we can now hope for is late additions who will need to integrate without the benefit of a full pre-season. Sorry to whinge but I'm getting a serious case of deja vu.
If Adel won't train - sack him. Better use of £65k salary elsewhere and we will only lose 60% of a measly sale price anyway.
Taiwo. He had SOUL. Redknapp has failed with Adel twice and I see no reason to believe this time will be any different, though I hope I'm wrong. If he gets Krancjar or Van der Vaart in I doubt Adel will get a kick, fit or not.
I know Tony is much experienced and wiser this time and dont just throw his money away but he better have player or two in before opener against Hull. Im sure we will sign someone before that and maybe couple ones after but its unbearable to wait.....
It's tough. hull have done a lot of clever shopping early - but they got to plan from when they were safe in the Prem, well before the end of the season. We were the last to start. Having said that I'm not convinced we have a proper scouting system in place, and though the owners have an acquisition strategy/policy I don't think Redknapp is on board with it. Plus our ability to close deals looks dodgy. All adds up to last minute signings and loans.
Hard to argue with this two crucial points. How much does Beard get paid to organise the club for the future? I said at the time of his appointment that running a football club would be nothing like the more impersonal business of preparing the infrastructure for the Olympics.
At fans forum tony and beard both said plans in place or lists of players depending on division we are in. Harry obviously has a say on which players etc but it has been said Beard does all the negotiations etc. Just reading harrys book and he says he has little to do once player spoke toeveverything done through Beard.
