What do we make of this signing ? Wenger said the following about him: He can play RB and CB and possibly further forward as a DM, so a versatile player. Let's hope he turns out to be as good as people are saying because he's definitely a gamble at 16m http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/20140728/calum-chambers-completes-move-to-arsenal
I reckon it's a deal starting quite a bit lower and then rising to 16m with addons which'll require him to have had some sort of success with us. Happy to bring him in as he will give extra cover along the back line. I'll be interested to see if jenkinson goes out on loan and chambers is our backup rb or if jenkinson stays as second rb and chambers is cover for cb and any rb injuries.
Maybe, maybe not... Whatever happens, I'm looking forward to seeing the players we bought last year fulfilling their potential. You watch Lamela go this year....
how does a post about our new signing need to have Spuds making comments about their lame signings. if they want to make comments they could make a new thread entitled "Spuds dream that their lame signings will not be a waste of £100 million or the jokes on us" actually come to think of it i will start one for them - so here it is http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...waste-of-%A3100-million?p=6827174#post6827174
Not unaware, just he has never really played there. The kids are played in different positions which kind of screws with the posibility of winning cups but it gives the kids a better idea of the game. Chambers played mainly holding mid or attacking right midfield but moved toRB about 16 months ago. Most Saints fans would say in 2 years he would have been moved to CB. Good with the ball, fairly strong but would get bullied at CB by the likes of Lukaku or even our beloved Lambert. You have paid top dollar for him but he has potential, I would put him behind Clyne though unless playing agianst the likes of West Ham as he is taller
