Not just me who is thinking that way, since my comment - 'Liverpool on red alert as Arsenal target Wilfried Bony is put up for sale by Swansea' http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/391534/Liverpool-on-red-alert-as-Arsenal-target-Wilfried-Bony-is-put-up-for-sale-by-Swansea 'Swansea chairman gives Liverpool hope over Wilfried Bony but hands Spurs huge setback' http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/493273/Swansea-chairman-gives-Liverpool-hope-over-Wilfried-Bony-but-hands-Spurs-huge-setback 'Brendan Rodgers is preparing a new bid for the Ivory Coast international and the Welsh club's chairman admits they are prepared to sell the striker if the right offer is made' http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892/transfer-zone/2014/07/29/4990878/- As I said, there's transparency and there's strongly implied but veiled messages. It appears clubs and some of the press agree that Huw has issued a "Make me an offer big boys." statement reinforced by Monk.
Bony wants to go , its in our best interest to push him onto someone .... still think Arsenal will land him ... if he stays and plays I dont think he willhave a great season . Would never get20 million under those terms You never get the best out of someone who isnt where he wantsto be ..just my opinion baps
What a load of bollox. It's like a washer woman's convention on here sometimes. I'm really fed up with the rampant negativity and swans - bashing FROM OUR OWN SO - CALLED FANS FFS!!!
i have to say guys, the papers are making a story out of not a lot, if you look at goals headline, Rodgers preparing a new bid. How can he make a new bid when he hasnt made one before as confirmed by HJ. At no time has he said he is up for sale, only will be cosidered if the right offer coes in. Mind you if you get offered 25m from any club would be hard to turn down. Having said all that would have prefered to have worded it a bit better and given any club hope or even said he is not for sale at any cost or not gone on there in the first place. There is no need to do it. Just tell them to **** off.
Bony is happy hear and it's in our best interests to keep him. Please provide a direct quote where Bony has said he wants to leave?
Hardly reliable sources are they? Huw hasn't put Bony up for sale, he just stated the f**ing obvious in that should a CL club come in with I'd say around £25-£30 million, Huw will let Bony decide, if not its telling the other clubs to piss off and not bother wasting our time. Huws interview strengthened our position on Bony staying.
In fairness he has stated from the off that yes he would leave if it was a CL club that came in for him (which is the next step for him really). So to say he wants to go and doesnt want to be here is doing him a little bit of on injustice. No need to push him onto anyone. Whether we like it or not we are a stepping stone club for the better players that we attract. We know it the club knows it and the players know it. It is a fact of life one which I dont mind especially when the player and the club are quite transparent about it. Refreshingly honest!!
Exactly nothing nobody didnt know already. In fact seeing as Liverpool had already made an approach to his agent I am sure they are fully aware of exactly what it will take to prise him away from us. ALl HJ has done is reiterate this fact. Not interested in cheeky little offers if you are seroius you will have to pay serious money
I don't want to sell my house, but if one of you guys make an astronomical offer, then I'll sell it to you. Am I trying to sell my house? No. I'm just stating the obvious. So now you know my house is for sale at the right price. LOL.
Huw's comments have raised attention to Bony that wasn't there before he made them. All over the internet now and that is unnecessary ... unless you want to generate interest or you are just a bit naive. Bony and his agent have said he's happy in Swansea so why even mention he's available? At any price.
Do you really think that top clubs bid for players based on internet gossip? What do you think they do, trawl for comments on whoe available and then bid in the morning? You make me laugh. He's happy at Swansea, but he'd be happier with a top 4 club. I've been happy working places but still left for bigger challenges. Football (and life) isn't just about being happy. Why mention he's available? Because people like you would accuse Huw of lying if he said he's not for sale and then sold him to Liverpool a week later. So he's being honest. He's not up for sale, but if a big offer from a big club comes in then that changes things. It doesn't mean that Huw is trying to sell him.
Plastic absolutely nailing the situation. Great posts full of common sense. I just want to reiterate everything Plastic has said.
So you are putting yourself in the same corner as journalists who are constantly derided for being word twisting scum by all other corners of society?
Well Brendan is still buying strikers even if it is fir 2015 Liverpool have signed Belgium striker Divock Origi from Lille for £ 10m.The 19-year-old has agreed a five-year contract but will remain at the French club on loan next season and move to Anfield in 2015.
