I expect him to play in Europe in the later rounds and be back up to Chester and Davies in the PL. We wouldn't pay £2.5m for him to send him out on loan.
Would we pay £2.5M for a development squad player? I think he'll play a decent amount of games this season, I'm predicting 20 overall.
In the short term, I think he'll not be that far up the pecking order, not only do I expect him to be behind the other centre back we're signing, but I expect him to be behind McShane and I think Bruce might be on his way(unless we can shift Figgy).
Robertson is the long term replacement for Figgy as many dont expect him to get another contract Plus hopefully Joe Dudgeon will prove himself over the season that he is fit and ready to do battle with Robertson as well as earn a new contract here.
What makes interesting reading is the reactions of the two sets of fans on there respective boards, Dundee united fans sad, but happy that young Andy Robertson career is on the up, Sheffield united exacts opposite regards Harry Maguire, "you'll regret it" "hope you get relegated " "greedy bastard" "hull city that ****-hole" "why do want to play for that fat horrible bastard Bruce", Dundee united=class, Sheffield united = classless.
It is funny considering most of them laughed at City fans for considering them rivals. Doesn't seem that way now the way they are going on, does it?
One blunter couldn't see why he'd come here, saying they'd be above us in two years anyway. How are they gonna do that when we keep signing their best players ?
Always have been. They have a chip on the shoulder and it comes from Hillsborough. In 10 years time the Blunts will still be below Hull City.
They can look on the bright side. It'll be a few years before we're in a position to even consider signing their back-to-back-to-back player of the season.
After these 2 we must be about done with incoming transfers right? Just that CB that we are talking to correct? Not counting the loans we would clearly bring in.
We were after Jenkinson so presumably Bruce wants another right back? Unless the plan for Jenkinson was to use him as a CB?
Do you reckon either of these will play any youth/reserve games in the next week or so? With them unable to play in Europa league, the earliest they can get a game is Stuttgart friendly two weeks away, which isnt exactly ideal for their pre-season preparations.
@mikewhitesport: What's going on at Sheff Utd? Per @jonathanbuchan, #sufc claim Maguire to #hcafc not done deal despite City confirmation, press call etc..... WTF?
