Predicted this on the transfer rumour thread as he has sold his bar in Lark Lane and a family member was one of the architects who built his new house last year...in Spain.
ahead of robinson? i hope so, not that i have issues with robinson, but LLori is supposed to have more potential, but has LLori played yet? may have done but if so i don't remember.
Isn't Robinson a full-back? I know Ilori can play there as well, but his (and Agger's) main position is CB as I understand it.
Robinson? Is he still around? I thought we shifted him. And we did shell out 8 million for Ilori so I hope we start doing something soon with him
robinson played last game didn't he? if not i need to slow down on the smoking lol, although i have some good **** yeah i realized after i posted that probably talking from cb point of view, but will Llori start off that way is why i mentioned it.
He was loaned to Blackpool last season. Afaik he's back at LFC now. EDIT: He was on the bench against Olympiakos. So yes, he's at LFC.
Tobes we've has this discussion, you're the only one that thinks he is our best defender. The rest of us see him more than you (despite your obsession and knowledge of all things LFC) and know he can't mark for shot and his tackling is average. Good on the ball but that's not good enough to warrant a place on its own anymore. Used to be the only one since Hyypoa who could play LCB which made him look better than any of his replacement who came in and took over. Sakho and lovren is the future and Skrtel will be phased out the next few years.
I agree he should have gone two years ago. Far too injury prone but had a big reputation that would have fetched nearer £20m at the time, I'm expecting around £10m-£12m from this move now. He's not the player he was, his reputation is seen as a good ball playing defender which is true but his defending is poor IMO. He lacks concentration leading to marking errors and then he lunges into to tackles to try and make amends, obviously can't do this with corners and set-pieces which as cost us a fair few goals over the years. Love Danny though, he'll always be loved by Liverpool fans.
And in a few years Tobes will be back whinging that "a couple of seasons ago you were all saying Skrtel is the best don't make me vault you" TBF he couldn't be such a hardcore #bitter if he understood the concept of moving on
He'll be saying similar for Coates and Johnson soon hopefully He's been criticising Gerrard for a couple of years now but no doubt when he retires we'll never be able to replace him
Ilori is a right sided cb, he's not a full back specialist not an attacking full back like we need.. gaeer is left sided and robinson.. who's ok but not good positionally or in terms of strength is a full time LB. in short i think the point is moot.
Good on his day , problem is it hasnt been his day for a long time Will always have a place in many a reds heart for this alone. please log in to view this image
that and his goal i think was against west ham, but mainly for that lol. is a shame, but time to move on i guess, wasn't to be.
Aye mate, 2 years ago he was the best in the league like...lol. http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/120165-Daniel-Agger-amp-Martin-Skrtel?highlight=agger
To be fair, at times last season I felt alone when backing Skrtel and Sakho as a partnership because so many wanted Agger brought in instead... He might not be our best defender, but many wanted him to play at least over Skrtel so it is interesting to read all the posts now in full reverse as though a season of limited play time has suddenly changed him from a top defender to a poor one.
skrtel problem has been consistency, he goes up and down from a key player to a liability game by game, no in between and just consistent, he is either very good or just plain ****e. 3-4 yrs ago the exact same argument you are using now would have been laughed at, but who knew then agger would be as bad with injuries, and also the long standing joke with skrtel is he has one good season every 4 yrs, well he has just had what is considered by his standards a good season
Ive backed Skrtel ever since he signed if Tobes can go to his vault everyone will see the posts etc. Even when Skrtel is **** he has the raw ingredients to be a really good cb. I dont think he'll ever be considered a great but he's strong , not afraid to stick his head in and a threat from corners. He also has the henchoz factor of getting away things. Henchoz was handballs and Skrtel is pulling the shirt. Hes not bad on the ball but that is where Agger trumped him.
