To be fair though... despite being a "United Legend" - his comments have been fairly balanced... he hasn't been kissing Mancy arse.

true that's the bollocks american influence not t20, my 7 yr old went to a ruddy prom couple of years ago, and we know where that ****e come from as well.

million dollar contracts could have come from there as well ie basket ball, baseball, even golf ie tiger woods, football has even gone down that route sadly.

That's not American... they don't have proms for 7yr olds... What's the point of a 7 yr old prom? Did any of the kids actually dance? Any of the boys dance? Did the boys/girls line up on opposite sides of the dance hall?

My 10 year old son would never have asked a girl to a dance at age 7... my daughter who is that age might go with a boy... but most boys that age don't want to dance with girls.

Prom's in the US are just held for kids in their last year of high school about to graduate... some schools allow kids in their penultimate year to go too.

I don't think it was historically all that uncommon in England in years past... it was just called "High School ball" instead and less gaudy and over the top as an American Prom.

Football will change. The audience has already changed and the game will be changed to meet their supposed needs. Just look at any Premiership ground today - full of kids and 'family enclosures'. You can't swear because the kids are there and the wives and girlfriends might not like it! Yet professional football grew up as an ADULT entertainment where one of the 'blessings' was that for a controlled period you could swear all you wanted.

Somehow we are supposed to generate the same passion as the crowds of the 60/70s did. It's just not possible sat on your arse whilst feeding popcorn and burgers to brats!!

So yes the game will change - but certainly not for the better - but we'll be told that the changes will make it even more spectacular!!
