Marko Surely this should be the busiest time of year for agents?

You'd think they would be busy, but from what I've heard they like to take short holidays. I distinctly remember last season having issues signing a player around this time because Leeds couldn't get hold of the players agent because he was off in some sunny climate soaking up rays.

he's probably spoke to the club about it, i dont know whether you guys remember but we started to speak to him in january/february time and he said he wanted to leave contract talks until the season finished so he could focus solely on his performances. and plus bates said that the club had spoken to every player with a year left on their contract when the kasper thing first came up

It's clear there's an over-cautious approach at the club that shows a distinct lack of foresight.

Young players with potential only get short deals and players who can only maintain the same average level, or get worse, get long deals.

Leeds United is a good pay day for older players on the way down and a good stepping stone for players on the way up.

    It shouldn't be that way.

clive, at the moment it may seem a little bit like that, but its hard for a championship club to be much more and theres not exactly much loyalty left in the game so any top players will go to premiership clubs or to higher wages. So we will end up either getting players that have had there time in the top tier and are no longer good enough, young players that are not quite there yet but aiming to be there or players that are just content with being in the championship. it sucks but theres no other way

Yeah but my point is that we need to gamble on the younger players with potential and give them longer deals in the first place.

At the moment we've got players like Leigh Bromby sitting around on a 4 year deal and players like Bradley Johnson are going to the Premier League on a free.

And what you are saying just highlights how important it was to go up last season, it was a real missed opportunity that could have set the club back years.
