Think this is probably the one DTLW said had been delayed

In your own mind, I'm sure you believe that. But in my mind, I can make an equally plausible case for Cortese being the villain and KL being a hero as the reverse.

Probably the most reasonable explanation in my mind is that NC and KL simply disagreed on the direction of the club. And KL's direction involves less wages and no CL so of course the players seeing that are going to leave. And they're going to leave a bit angry, feeling like promises were broken, which is probably somewhat justified.

There's always cancer in the club and there's always someone willing to drip that valuable information.

Just to clarify - how do we know she is a lesser business person?

Surely she has an army of advisors in many industries/markets.

We are likely to never know how many mistakes Cortese could have made as much as we ar likely to know who is responsible and for why all the player sales.

My view is we support who is in charge and the team that go out - it could be worse - she could cream off everything and not spend any sugnificant funds (which doesnt appear likely) and have us playing back in League 1...

I'm feeling bright eyed and bushy tailed today, probably because we haven't sold anyone yet.......suppose its only mid afternoon.

She inherited her wealth, and Cortese didn't, which is a decent indicator. Someone on here (Dan, maybe?) has posted about her shortcomings in business before she was here, but I can't remember the details on that.

Obviously it's all in the past (unless Cortese returns <eek>), but while the current regime is still here it could have implications for the present and future. Of course, if Kat sells, it'll be a completely new slate.

Katharina isn't a businesswoman. She has a lot of money.

Same way as if I won a ****tonne on the lottery, and hired top advisors - I'd just be a rich guy with top advisors, not a businessman.

I'm sure i've mentioned her previous positions at the lesser MALI group companies where she presided on a day to day basis over the small benevolent acquisitions MArkus made, which were eventually run into the ground and disbanded.

Make no mistake, I've no regard for our owner's aptitude for business.

The core business of MALI group superficially looks to be up and running again but scratch the surface and it's really still just a holding page.

Ok, but many businesses fail or are pulled for various reasons, Im not convinced entirely. And also not so convinced NC was so good as has been made out:

    1. He would still be here (i.e. did he get 'found out')
    2. Is easier spending other peoples money (he never to my knowledge attracted additional finance to the club)
    3. Was our club sustainable

Having said that - if NC wants to come knocking once more with a heavily backed bid then all good - arise Sir Nicola...

To be fair she is a business woman in that she makes the final decisions and the buck stops with her.

NC would also have advisors. Richard Branson also has a few of those too!

    1. Kat may have been wrong to disagree with him/ Kat needed to depose him to sell. (I'm leaning towards the latter, as we all know, but it could be elements of both)
    2. Yes, but he still had a vested interest in the success of the club.
    3. It's a hell of a stretch of the imagination to imagine it wasn't/isn't.

Difference being that as far as we know NC was entrusted and employed to make those decisions based on his own talents rather than nepotism.

The stick that he was playing with someone elses money has been used to beat him, but he has achieved more to be in that position than someone born into an inheritance.

I class her as a private investor more than a business woman.

    - Im not sure long term it was due to player wages continuing to rise, but happy to be proved wrong.

On the fence myself. I lean from the unsustainable contracts/promises theory to the extract cash and sell up theory. Both plausible in my eyes. I'm not ready to vilify either side.

Arguably the two can be compatible.
