Tonight at Worcester we are filling our boots on GRAN MAESTRO at 8/1 in the 8:20. Saw this one work really nicely at the weekend and they have dropped him back in trip after not quite seeing out 2m4f last time. I am glad he is an each way price as there is some smart opposition but this fella really should be backed tonight. The yard will expect to be going for a double as DISCAY really should be winning the race before.

Bet365 very early doors. I had a big bet Bob. Best most of my pals got was 7's. Its an each way punt for me so you wouldn't catch me backing it now!

If anyone is keen I'd expect at least some kind of drift before the off as most of the money will be down now.

Had one morning pint too many already I guess, but was just thinking, can't wait for the day that Spencer rides something for N.Henderson. The forum's favourite jockey rides for the forum's favourite trainer.............erm.............:emoticon-0112-wonde

I see the dam of this won the ‘Sun Chariot’. The NH sphere is certainly not what he was bred for! As well as his pedigree Gran Maestro has a very unusual profile for a hurdler. Had 33 races on the level prior to going over timber. Is it really possible to ‘teach an old dog new tricks’?!? Still a kick in the belly and a slap on the rump and I suppose anything is possible. But to be honest the whole heat looks strange as also amongst the runners is a Group 3 winner off the Flat!

Must confess I haven’t had a proper look at the racing today. Been far too busy accomplishing the task of setting my Panama at the correct angle.

    Good luck crew.

He has ridden for the forum’s favourite trainer in the past. Jamie has a not that impressive score of 1/10 when riding for Mr Henderson these past five seasons. A ‘Barney Bonus’ to anyone who can name that winner. Clue – it occured this term.

There should though be a jovial interview between Mr Henderson and Jamie’s ex, the lovely and I do mean lovely, Ems, prior to the card commencer at Goodwood tomorrow. Ems always seeks him out whenever he’s got a runner on the level. Expect an absolute torrent of hair flicking and giggling.

Interesting to see that Mr Henderson chucks his Forgotten Voice into Thursday’s ‘Goodwood Cup’ (the lovely Ems will almost certainly be after another interview). It will be the first time the gelding has ever gone 16 furlongs on the level. Dickie Hughes booked.

Another eyecatching thing about Thursday’s racing is that the soon to be runner-up in ‘The Gold Cup’ Missunited sidesteps the ‘Goodwood Cup’ for the much easier and much poorer Group 3 ‘Lillie Lantry’ heat. Smacks as Unambitious with a capital ‘U’.

Emma Spencer could not even wait for one race to pass without coming out with the rubbish about Johnston horses being difficult to pass.

Very poor renewal of the Lennox Stakes. Goodwood must be joking if they think this should be a Group 1 Race. Look like a bunch of handicappers. Hopefully Toormore will lend it some grace.
