Yes, we will, I expect we will sign some players who have a vested interest in keeping us up, our youngsters may prove to be outstanding, and we have a manager who is no stranger to winning... plus if we have a good start we won't have to climb any mountains.

No need to apologise. I just feel we'll be fine this coming season. And i expect us to do a whole lot better than is expected by the majority of us right this moment. Koeman will bring in some more players and things will be a lot less depressing come the start of the season!

I think we'll survive this season, on the basis that we will get new signings in. Koeman wouldn't have come unless he knew he'd have a budget, and I don't believe the board would be so naive as to think that we have the numbers or the quality currently to enable us to stay up.
The club would be massively devalued if we were relegated and would achieve nobody's goals - Kat wouldn't get a good price if she were to sell up with us in the championship and the huge investment in the training facilities would be wasted.
Our board may not be football people but I just don't believe they are stupid, or have an agenda other than for the club to be successful on and off the pitch.
I think that the rush for the door by 3/4 of our first team caught everybody by surprise, especially the board but that seems to be player led, not policy.
I am basing this opinion on nothing more than a guess, but I tend to be a lucky gambler and trust my instincts and experience of human nature.
It might be a rough ride at times this coming season, but a rough ride is better than no ride at all (said the actress to the bishop).

Not worried about there not being any money, but I am worried if we are faffing about rather than buying. It is amazing for any club to lose as many players as us...but it is also amazing that a decent PL club swilling in cash can't convince anyone to come here.

I'm pretty sure we'll finish in the lower part of the table. To many new faces, never a good thing, regardless of their quality. And we're not entitled to anything, there are other clubs, most of them keeping their squad and adding more depth and quality, they will surely have a say in the matter.

Too many players inexperienced of the PL (if they ever sign!)...we may stay up, but only because others are crap.

15th/16th...Can't see much better to be fair. The signings being talked about are extremely underwhelming IMO and the squad already there will surely be demorolised after the mass exodus.

This is where a good manager comes in...effective signings, get the best from players, and build team spirit back up, Don't think Koeman is a man afraid of a challenge. Lack of PL experience is my worry...especially if we let any more players go. We didn't have experience when we got promoted, but that was counteracted by a team used to playing together.

Agree with this. Ron has a good track record but has to prove it in PL. Think he will though.

If we can get about a point a game from the first 10 games providing we have made enough good signings we should be alright. Trouble is if you were a betting man, right now you would have to stick some money on us for the drop.
The teams coming up will all have team ethics and all I can see is a long hard slog.

We will be extremely fortunate to stay up...as I am not sure RK will have the time to gel a team together in the PL. My reasoning is that the players we are bringing in (so far) have not had any PL experience. Nor sadly has RK.
I am ever hopeful we will stay but just at this moment that doubt remains. Suggest the question be asked around the end of September again we may have a better guide to our fortunes.

How much money have the Liebherrs actually put into Saints over the years? I honestly don't know.

If Katharina was to take out a large chunk of the transfer fees, would this get her money back and still have a (gimped) club in the Prem? If you're not interested in football, just money, then that might be a sensible thing to do. If the club was to stay up, then great, more money. If it failed? Well more money anyway from parachute payments.

I really hope this is all a big trick and Saints have a lot of new decent players already lined up, but as it stands the only thing I can see is a failed relegation battle.

We can all cling onto the feel good propaganda coming from the club and the ITKers toeing the line until the transfer window shuts.

It just feels like all the mockery of the tabloids and **** journalists on twitter for their lazy articles about our players leaving which have nearly all turned out to be well founded.

It's almost the worst thing that we've given all these arseholes the opportunity to be correct for a change.

Not trying to rag on anyone here, but this all feels very warm and fuzzy now. Happy days.

Just had to have a little bumpette. Those old threads...they're so juicy now.

I have it on company email to colleagues having a dig at me that I felt we would finish 12, email sent at start of August. I'm thinking now that I will be wrong!

Even Kreuger, who knew what was going on, said it seemed like a dream summer when standing at this end of the window. It was the length of time that signings were taking that worried me, but at one point I would have signed anyone with 2 legs and a pair of boots. The Saints team prefer to get the right people in :)

Now let me go and find all Joe and Dan's posts about Pelle... :D

Again, sure I've posted some stuff which turned out horribly wrong, but I'd like to think I was part of Camp Peaceful for at least some of the summer!
