Just read these two posts and for a second thought you hadn't drunk beer since you were five years old.
Yeah it is excellent. Whoever you've been talking to needs to lighten up! In fact sounds like they haven't actually been. Munich as a city is cool with bundles of history for a start. The beer is reasonably expensive but its excellent quality. There are far less chemicals in the beer which gives you a much milder hangover. In regards to warm - its cold, never warm, especially as me and my mates were smashing down the beers! In regards to getting served you sit down on a bench which are in the big wooden temporary buildings and German woman come to you. Its a much better system than in England and I regularly wait much longer when I'm on the lash here. So no, not a major problem. Food is served in the same way, if not off a stall which takes about 5 mins to get served. Its great fun. Beer, food, music, friends, people, atmosphere, culture.

To be fair, a lot of those things apply to German beer/bars anyway. Never been to Munich, but I hear it's nice (if somewhat snobby). I like the fact that you list one good thing as being that women come to you (definately not a bad thing)!
What's not true?, that German women traditionally have hairy armpits tht they don't shave or that you don't find them off-putting?
