    If he was going cheap I'd snap their hand off, great defender and bags of experience to help Maguire, Robertson and, perhaps more importantly, Max Clark.

    Clearly he won't want to come here as it's too far from London, but if I was Carl looking at West Ham... Sam is on the fringes of going, then your future is all up in the air. Would you want that sort of "stability" for the next year?
