Excellent write-up and encouraging that fans from all clubs are coming together and defending football's heritage.
It is a dreadful shame that when so many from other clubs recognise just how wrong the name change debacle is we have a core here who just fail to see it and buy into the chicanery.

    Well said.

Almost as disappointing as the name change fiasco is the revelation that we have a small section of our support who have decided that seeing Premiership football at all costs trumps seeing their 110 year old local club survive.

Such people are NOT Hull City supporters, they are mere PL franchise customers who will **** off if/when we go down again next.

They have been sucked up into the heady hype of 'top class' football, believing that the choice is name change or oblivion, PL or bankruptcy.

We as a club have seen a dramatic change in our supporter demographic since 2002, and some of them are not to familiar with the heritage and identity of football clubs, the role of them in the communities that spawned them.

We have a real battle on our hands at this club to maintain it for future generations to be proud of as the present ignorant opportunist 'fans' are more susceptible to the shallow tinseltown aspect of our sport.

Imagine if we won the Europa League and thus qualified for the Champions League but were not allowed to play...

What a load of rubbish. Nothing more than a personal attack on those who don't share your point of view.

You offer no viewpoints or arguments of your own......

I can take or leave the PL, if others are so addicted to it, then maybe a top 4 club is the way to go?

I'll take a stable well-run honest HCFC whatever the division/level.

    Thanks.

Nah course not. Nothing of any concern going on there at all. Much more important talking about sticking it to the man over a name change than talking about a club which seems to be disappearing slowly down the plughole. Blackpool's fans aren't worthy of FSF/SD consideration?

What exactly do you expect the FSF/SD to do about a club not spending as much as the fans would like? <doh>

Talk about the problems in modern day football where the fans are treated with contempt and could lose their club thanks to terrible ownership and the rules around that?

Its not just not spending is it? They have no players ffs, or a manager too by the looks of it.

Fantastic report back OLM despite some of the worrying conclusions. As for Greg Dyke, I dare say i'll get shot down here but I know much about his management style and operating methods. During his time at GMTV, and as BBC DG, he came out with a number of crackpot ideas publicly whilst getting a grip privately. That's not to say he will 'fix' things in the game as quickly and perhaps many of us would want. However, I would give him time. He pretty much saved GMTV (albeit with a Rat), and certainly he was fixing the BBC after Birt's years until the Dirty Dossier and David Kelly issues when he took a principled stance.

I thought he'd done a decent job at the BBC and as a consequence I thought he was a decent appointment for the FA, but I'm very disappointed so far.

Agreed OLM, but again, that was pretty much what folks in the media industry thought at the same point in the past. As I said, I'd give it a little more time. I'm not quite sure how much 'power' he actually wields in the game (as opposed to what he's supposed to wield!) As Tickles would say TWT...

Nah just a small gobshitey minority who like blowing hot air out all the time. Listen to them, sure, act on their demands, no. Those that claim to not be putting any money into the clubs pockets, then not doing that, they can sod off or better still, just stfu, because noone is buying that.

Blackpool is not the same as the situation we find ourselves in. As football fans, all for one and one for all, we should be concerned about the goings on at a club like Blackpool. How would you like to be a position of not having enough players to start the first game of the season, and not having a manager? You think that's acceptable? Do you think its nowt to do with you because, well, you're a Hull City fan, and don't care about them?

Much is made about fans working together, so, Im surprised the appalling Blackpool situation wasn't a subject at the meeting, and doesn't seem to be of any concern to our fans either.
