Twitter is buzzing about Stockdale being at Brighton with an announcement due anytime, plus Stek hasn't featured all pre season with rumours of a return to Ajax... surely this means at least one keeper is coming in soon any suggestions????? perhaps the Mexico keeper he is still a free agent Ochoa I believe

Ochoa would be good. We were linked with Sam Johnstone of Manchester United earlier so that's a possibility. I wouldn't be surprised to see somebody like Timo Hildebrand come in. He's a free agent, very experienced and has worked with Felix before. Could be very helpful in the development of the two youngsters that are here at the moment.

I thought we were keeping the players who wanted to be at Fulham... I think Stockdale was one of them!!

There are others we should be getting rid off!!

Sam Johnstone would be great, have read good things about him, he's highly rated and seen as a future England number one.... Most importantly he was apparently very good on loan for the second half of last season in the championship I know Doncaster got relegated but the did give it a good go with a much better second half of the season!!!

Stekelenburg is out with knee ligament damage according to some. He also had a shoulder operation... Anyone knows anything about this?

Everything about the Fulham set up baffles me, and especially the dealings of Ali Mac.
Or am I being, and reading into a situation that is evolving, which may ultimately
be for the betterment of the club.
I personally will give and analyse the first 10 games before praising or castigating
    the clubs managerial/coaching/hierarchy.

Re : Stekelenberg, believed he has a long term shoulder problem the op being a ruptured
rotator cuff. Quite easily repaired but has a tendency to return , so maybe rid of is the answer.
Any ideas what the received fee for Stockdale was.

No announcement but Stockdale is no longer featured on the FFC web site.

Well it will be Felix's team that's for sure, and I for one am looking forward to the first game. We have a young side who may benefit from 2 seasons in the Championship, maybe good enough to go up this year. It will be Fulhamish whatever we do

The reported bid as of yesterday was £1m. Earlier today stories said that we had asked Brighton to up the ante and the next thing was that he was gone. My guess is they didn't increase the offer. And even if they did, it wouldn't have been by much.

Well, at first glance I'd suggest:

    1) Stockdale, whilst a very good shot stopper, has never commanded his area. This is the reason he looks good whilst conceding alot. He is not to blame for how bad Hangeland and Senderos/Amore were last year, but Stockdale does have to shoulder some of the blame for our terrible defensive play last year.
    2) We all loved Stockdale because he tried hard and wore his heart on his sleeve. But he's not really improved in several years and lest we forget, many of us felt Stockdale wasn't good enough this time last year.
    3) We wanted to get better at the goalkeeper position and at this time in his career it is only fair that we let Stockdale go if we cannot give him first team football.
    4) Stockdale struggles with his weight - that won't go down well under Magath's fitness regime.

I think we all wanted Stockdale to stay, not least because we desperately need some continuity and veteran leadership. But let's not forget that there are some rather compelling reasons for wanting to upgrade our goalkeeper.

Can't disagree with any of that Surly. Definitely a head/heart situation on my part.

It's all very well wanting to 'upgrade' our goalkeeper, but shouldn't we have the upgrade before binning the old model? Oh well, I'm sure the club will have something lined up...

Is Marshall of Cardiff still floating about. Vorm would have been a good choice.

    If only..

A name being bandied around is Timo Hildebrand of Shalke. The 35 year old who is a free agent is of course well known to Felix and based not very far away from Austria.

The question to ask is why sell a goalkeeper that was your No1 to a rival championship team if you don't have a nailed on replacement. So I guess tomorrow we will hopefully find out who is his replacement.

To me the mysterious and somewhat illogical nature of Stockdale's departure suggests maybe the 'keeper had failed the attitude test with Felix. Either that, or perhaps Felix wanted to clean out every vestige of Fulham's woeful defense from last season.

I suspect we're in for a slow and chaotic start to the season with a whole new list of players trying to bend to Magath's system.
