Yeah, that's what you do. As soon as the going gets tough you support a better team. Well done, good reply
Because they're my local team and my family grew up supporting them. It's not why you support a team is it? My anger is at the way the league is set up and how it discourages teams from producing their own talent, not at the club.
Me too, QWERTY, I'm in the next era now. I was worrying a bit and asking why, but no point really. Who's next and I'm putting my effort into supporting Ronald Koeman and whoever he brings in.
And he'd have been crucified for that too. In wonder what would happen of he quit soon? Fans would **** themselves.
Everyone is different. If I was in charge I would sell him in a heartbeat if I got that offer for a kid with half a season under his belt. Rather that than have a player moping around coz we refused the transfer. If I had employed someone of Koemans experience I would absolutely back him to sign a replacement at a fraction of the cost knowing that Clyne is arguably the better player right now anyway. You are right we don't have to sell but all in all I think most fans would agree that this makes more sense than keeping him. Yes he's the 3rd significant player to leave but we need to treat each transfer separately and trust that Koeman will deliver the goods.
Koeman has a big job...he needs those players now. The board should stop trying to pay the right price...they should go in hard and blow the opposition out of the water. make it so high that the players opinion doesn't even count. Get their little arses through the door. We'd still be quids in. I think that Nicola's tough bargaining is the only bit of him we have left and we don't need it now. I see Ron's job as building a team, staying up this season and planning a great preseason and transfer window next summer.
I certainly wouldn't have told us all that no one would be leaving. I definitely wouldn't have said we will keep all of our best young players despite selling them all I would definitely be embarrassed to be in his position right now. He has a lot of work to do. Trying to actually bring a few players in before selling the next batch would be a good start. He is "solely responsible for football matters" - well Les, half of our football playing staff have left, the others all want to and the only incoming transfers have no PL experience. Time to step up Mr Reed and pull your finge out of your arsehole.
You're right, he should probably have seen that nothing he could have said would help, even with a crystal ball. Best to let Twitter/saintsweb/not606 have a meltdown in peace. If he gets enough players in by 1st September, it will pass.
