To own a premieship club with ambition? Don;t get me wrong, he's a very, very wealthy man, but is he rich enough, or does he have the balls, to make a fist of it at SAFC? The man has done wonders, but is he realistically, wealthy enough, in the billionaires play ground?
The way he wants to run the club then yes, more than rich enough. If we're self-sufficient it won't cost him a penny. To throw money around like those nutters at citih, Liverpool and Chelsea then no, nowhere near rich enough.
yes! hes a multi billionaire a billion is 1000m so id like to think hes rich enough but have to balls to take a risk and spend alot of his own money not sure
Ok, i get what you are saying... but. Just what does that mean for the future? A also ran club, which could include many, like the nags, villa, everton etc. I hate the differnce in the power scheme, just like i detest the prem (inc safc) in tte way the lower league teams are treat. But my question remains, in order to compete, is ES rich enough? I'm saying no.
1,000,000,000 Trillion 1,000,000,000,000 Kinell, just googled large numbers and there is a centillion which is 10 + 306 zeros
Well, it depends. What we don't know is how his wealth is split between cash & assets. If it's mainly assets, that means financing, and that is where the out lay can spiral, when your talking interest on £100 million it's an eye watering amount. I don't know if the Lone Star sale ever went through, or whether he took his payment in shares, that would be the key in how 'cash rich' he is. One things for sure, he's not gonna be living on smart price noodles anytime in this life! I read his story and it's a fascinationg one, I love to read about self made billionaires, there's something magic in that, to make yourself that wealthy. He's worth 3/4 of Richard Branson, that puts it into perspective I think. Obviously Branson gave a lot of his money away, but then he could sell Virgin Atlantic for billions, we will never know how much of Ellis wealth is 'cash in the bank'. A billion is 1000 million, we used to use 100million in the UK but we fell in line with the US some years back on this.
There isn't a billionaire on the planet that isn't a bit dodgy mate. You do not get to that level in life being scared to shake it up and bend it. Somewhere on your way to a billion, you have to trample on some millionaires, so you need guts and a strong back!
In 1974 the British government officially adopted the American version of the billion, replacing the version I quoted -look it up in Wiki if you still don't believe me. presumably all billionaires before that were American or lived in countries which used the same numbering system.
How many is a billion? In British English, a billion used to be equivalent to a million million (i.e. 1,000,000,000,000), while in American English it has always equated to a thousand million (i.e. 1,000,000,000). British English has now adopted the American figure, though, so that a billion equals a thousand million in both varieties of English. The same sort of change has taken place with the meaning of trillion. In British English, a trillion used to mean a million million million (i.e. 1,000,000,000,000,000,000). Nowadays, it's generally held to be equivalent to a million million (1,000,000,000,000), as it is in American English. In other words -**** Loads
