As you know Pr has conned himself to be the chairman of Plymouth now. I have a question, was he really to blame for the clubs sucessive relegations? And surely the seasons in the Champions League, everyone thought he was brilliant then? I guess he just gambled too much, which unfortunately pretty much every club does these days, but are all chairmen the same, and is he too be trusted
He should never be allowed to run any company again, not just a football club! If we'd been a listed company when he did what he did to Leeds, he'd be black-listed for life... As Chairman of the club, it was his responsibility to oversee spending and investment, which he failed to do on a dramatic scale. I genuinely pity any football club who are stupid enough to be associated with him.
I don't just blame him, I mean the best job he had before coming to Leeds was blooming Head of HR at Top man or something, but of a different league!!! He shouldn't have been given so much power! he should have remembered what his job was and acted like he was running the club as a businessman and not as a fan
i HAVE MET HIM IN barcelona and Madrid and we talked about the club for several hours gave me the impression that the rest of the board were just puppets it was all me me me
Yes. He was the one who took out ridiculous loans and gambled our future on success, then failing to deliver it by approving a string of **** and profligate signings. I suppose that's true but you can go back to all kinds of periods in history where it didn't seem as bad at the time as it does looking back when you know everything that was going on. No club gambles to the same extent though. No other club takes out loans which can only be repaid dependent on success. I don't know if he can be trusted any more, maybe he's a changed man after the crises at Leeds and Cardiff. I'd certainly never want him back here again and IALWB is right, he should have been kicked out of football years ago if the Football League had any kind of conviction about their Fit & Proper Persons test.
Pappa Smurf does not seem so bad compared to PR Pete....... Lets be careful what we wish for getting rid of Bates....... better the devil you know!!
He gambled, he lost. But we paid the price. He was ultimately responsible because he negotiated the contracts that saw us give Aaron Lennon away because we couldn't afford his wage increase. He was a child at the time FFS. Just how did we, a club the size of Leeds, incur such debts that we couldn't even afford to pay our juniors, albeit one who was destined for the top?
Possibly rather have him than some of the really low League Two types who might not be capable of running the club with any conviction at all. Dunno though, maybe he is the worst other than Ridsdale. There are some horrid characters around but most of them wouldn't effectively stop a club from getting promoted just to build a hotel scheme which is guaranteed never to make the club any real money, throw club money away on court cases, radio channels and old friends, charge such terrible money for ticket prices while spending very little on players and create a scenario where no opinion counts unless it's from within the club and non-official members are treated like they're not Leeds fans.
Think if PR Pete had been a little more cautious ... Fowler...did not need him and the straw that broke the camels back... Johnson...WHY oh WHY not to mention....Viduka,that other aussie prick The goldfish also bringing in Venables......... who knows what would have happened had macca not score that last min goal in the derby v Everton for Liverpool that cost us the champions league spot that year when it all turned...could have been so different......... who sang that sone "if i could turn back time" cher i think
Barnsley Leeds Cardiff Plymouth What have all these teams got in common..........they have all been screwed by the riddler.... i agree with most leeds fans that this man should not be allowed a football let alone a football club..
He signed his warrant at cardiff when he sold season tickets and promised to bring in new players over the summer. He actually paid the tax bill with this.
