We have 4 decent centre halves ... to sign another would almost be a vote of no confidence in them ... the priorities lie elsewhere ...
As it stands, with the Ulloa transfer (looking promising) the final peices of the jigsaw I would put on my wishlist are: 1.) Jamie Patterson from Forest, looked incredible last season and would fit in great with our current setup. Can't see Forest demanding more than £3-4 mil and why wouldn't he wanna come to the PL? 2.) Will Hughes, all gone a bit quiet on him lately but I suspoect he would command a ridiculous fee, but the prospect of DD, James and Hughes would excite me 3.) Delort giving forward options of Vardy, Nugent, Ulloa and Delort this - I believe - would give us the required firepower 4.) Leroy Fer always rated him, still at Norwich, been interest in him but no done deal yet would be the more realistic option to Will Hughes (£5-6 mil i reckon) 5.) A versatile full back like Naughton, I personally think RDL and Schlupp have got what it takes to make the first XI and will only get better the more they play but having cover from another young player who can play either side would be ideal. Although might be worth looking at some of the Dutch players, they seem extrmely level headed, both Vlaar and Janmaat were quality at the world cup and could probably make it into a champions league teams but are both getting on with their football at average clubs.
Looks like the Dramas are signing Caulker. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28365312 Shame, I would have liked him here.
In the second most protracted striker search this summer, Sky seem to think we're still in for Fraizer Campbell.http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/9386674/transfer-news-ole-gunnar-solskjaer-accepts-key-men-are-to-leave-cardiff
Im not sure i'd go in for relegated defenders. It took Davies a long time to become a premier league player again after getting relegated with Birmingham We already have the most scary defender in the premier league! his stare will win us points on its own! please log in to view this image
****ing hell Was chill out. You look like you´re going to kill eveyone in the prem not play a game of football against them. Did you kill animals as a child & write in CAPITALS ?
Yes please! He'd be a great signing, though I imagine his wages are pretty high. I saw Was in the supermarket the other day, was a bit too terrified to ask for a photo, though he did smile and say hello back when I awkwardly bothered him.
Dejan Lovren set to sign for Liverpool, Calum Chambers set to sign for Arsenal Arsenal also want Morgan Schneiderlin. Tottenham want Jay Rodriguez Are Southampton going to have team? They will have made around 95M through sales with Lambert, Shaw, Lallana, Chambers and Lovren
And the manager and chairman mid-season dont forget! All for excessive money though it must be said. I expect Ward-Prowse to really step up this year and it is make or break this - do your business shrewdly and you can be set for the future (but thats very hard), i expect them to struggle
They got a fair bit last year from the Bale sale too didn't they? Lets hope the replacements for them don't settle in quickly, i'd be happy to finish above Southampton, Burnley and QPR
Sorry OLM, but not the best money Steve Bruce has spent. Looked very ordinary in a good Arsenal team.
What's happening to Southampton is the best possible scenario for teams the same size as us. The big teams don't like medium-sized teams challenging, so they show off how much money they have by buying their players for over-inflated prices. They've got so much of the stuff it doesn't matter to them. It's pretty disgusting when you think about it.
