It has been suggested countless times that "contracts mean nothing" because players aren't seeing them out until the end. That's what I'm taking issue with here: they have no obligation to see them out. That's not what the contracts are for.
So then why are you moaning at the board as players leaving? If contracts aren't there to keep a player they are there to get as much as you csn when they leave. So the board is actually doing all it can to get the most money out of players wanting to go.
My problem with the board isn't anything to do with letting the players go. I've never said anything like that. In fact I've suggested countless times that you shouldn't keep a player against his will (to much abuse from other posters). My problem with the board is that they're clearly not popular with the players, and they ousted someone who was.
Seem to be popular with some of the players tho right? Or the whole team would want to go. I just think you liked Cortese too much so bash the board. They have been naive yes but you can't say if the players didn't like them.

Well I think most of the players know that they'd have to make a step down if they wanted to leave, but pretty much everyone who could attract interest from a good club has gone or is going, including players who surely could have been convinced to stay a bit longer if this was a good place to be. We've heard reports that Lallana (obviously) was not happy, but also Fonte and Cork, and I don't think there's much doubt of that. There's also plenty of evidence that Les Reed has been disliked at other clubs he's worked at. Combine that with the fact that the owner only has the club because she inherited it and Krueger is clearly inept and you've got yourself a pretty undesirable employer. I'm not saying it's unbearable to be a Saints player, but it's at least not as attractive as it used to be.
The biggest, hugest, Everest-sized mistake was hiring Kreuger. Presumably he is good at some things...he has a resume that suggests that...but he commands no respect from fans (and presumably all other football folk) the moment he opens his mouth. He must be regarding coming here as the worse period of his life...he has gone quiet...let's hope he quietly slips away, especially as he said something at the beginning that suggested he wouldn't be here for long.
I was trying to think of an original way to make the "pot, kettle" point and couldn't think of anything. Decent job. CBK, stick to what you do best. All-caps sarcasm and edgy jokes about ****ing.
