Why would he do that? He's never been disrespectful to the club, several times while at Toon he stressed he was still a QPR player, all he has done is make clear he wants to play for a Champion's League club. If no one comes in for him during this window the best he can do is score a lot of goals for us (while we are paying him as much or more than anyone else is prepared to) and hope for a move in the January window. Whatever club he is at, Remy strikes me as a 'selfish' player - not passionate about the team (though not unpopular), just interested in what he can do. Which is fair enough as a motivation to play well. He didn't want to go to Liverpool because he loves Liverpool, but to get the chance to play on a bigger stage. Loyalty in football is an overrated virtue.
I would be quiet content if he stayed until January, scored a dozen or so goals and got us to mid table comfort of 25 - 30 points so that when he goes in January we have the platform to reach 40 points without the last minute scramble.....
If he does we could always get one of these for him and Adel and the grinning SWP could be kept busy as the nanny to make sure the toys stay in the pram? please log in to view this image
http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/foo...harry-redknapp-eyes-new-strikers-9632741.html Loic Remy is expected to return to Queens Park Rangers for pre-season training next week after his £8million move to Liverpool collapsed. Remyâs transfer fell through on medical grounds and the France forward will report back to QPR, where he will meet Harry Redknapp to discuss his future. Liverpool have not commented on the reasons for the breakdown of the move but it is understood he failed a medical on the clubâs pre-season tour of America. Remy could now have a future at Loftus Road after looking certain to leave this summer. Redknapp is desperate to add to his attack before the start of the Premier League season and is a huge admirer of the 27-year-old. The QPR manager had been resigned to losing Remy, who had agreed personal terms at Anfield and been offered the No7 shirt left by Luis Suarez, but could now persuade him to stay. It remains to be seen whether Remy, who has three years left on his contract, wants to do that but his future will be become clearer when he returns to QPR. It is believed Redknapp has no concerns over the forwardâs fitness. Remy was given an extended break following the World Cup, where he was part of the France squad that reached the quarter-finals before losing to Germany, and has been asked to join up with QPR for pre-season training next week. He spent last season on loan at Newcastle, where he scored 14 goals in 26 Premier League appearances. Remy joined QPR in January last year when the club were struggling for their Premier League future and although he scored six goals in 14 games the £8m signing from Marseille was unable to keep the club up. Redknapp has told chairman Tony Fernandes he wants to sign some more strikers before QPRâs first game of the season against Hull on August 16. Bobby Zamora and Charlie Austin are the only other striking options and Redknapp has been linked with Watfordâs Troy Deeney. âWe are still short, we have two strikers,â said Redknapp after QPR were beaten 2-0 by German second division side by Red Bull Leipzig in a pre-season friendly on Saturday. âWe have Bobby and Charlie but it is taking time. Hopefully, in the next week or so we can put that right. We are trying to get things done. You canât go into a season with two strikers.â Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers revealed Remyâs move to Anfield was off at the weekend but he would not reveal what the problem was. âIt is very simple, we have decided not to go ahead with the deal,â he said. âIt is unfortunate for the player, we are obviously disappointed, but there is nothing more to be said. We move onto other targets.â
This is an interesting article although one wonders where the writer got some of his information. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...rs-after-transfer-to-Liverpool-collapses.html
On the money as usual Players have money but maybe a miserable shadow over them Remy is exactly the selfish player you want playing in that role He knows and understands that you get maybe two chances in a game He knows that and he finds the net or makes the keeper save To sum up... It's his job and great if he works for us
+1 Very much hope he stays, unclear why there is so much antagonism - where would we find another striker of his quality for essentially nothing (exc. wages). David McIntyre on Twitter said he was worried what this might lead to. As far as I can see, the only danger is that he goes at the last minute.
