Michael Carrick, Mathieu Debouchy and Harry Kane. And Cher Lloyd. And I thought every day was your birthday?
todays brithdays of significance are: Thomas Heyward, soldier, signer of the Declaration of Independence. Beatrix Potter Marcel Duchamp, painter (Nude Descending a Staircase). Earl S. Tupper, inventor of Tupperware. Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis Mike Bloomfield, Terry Fox, ran "Marathon of Hope" across Canada. Cher f'n Lloyd off xfactor too... puke..
Sponsorship stuff so walks, swims, maybe a bike ride, etc. She is aiming to raise £4k in twelve months which a good target since she's never done fundraising before in her life. She is having a stall on the market place in a couple of weeks too; something I was against but the council woman advised her to do it. They charge £20 per stall and they've told her she needs two as she looking to sell cakes and other items, food etc needs to be separated from other items. So it will cost her £40 upfront plus gathering the bits and bobs too, she won't make anything from it hence me being against it. Way I look at it is; get twenty people doing the activity and tell them they need to aim to raise £100 each through sponsorship = £2k raised. Obviously, not everyone will achieve the goals and you may not find willing twenty people but it's a bit like football; aim high and fail you still achieve something. Unfortunately for my work, the sponsorship approach isn't an option as the cause doesn't pull on the heart strings so people are less wiling to donate but it would work for this.
Cher Lloyd..... When she appeared on X Factor, I hated the **** outta her. Hate it when british people try to rap, sounds god awful, and didn't like her faux ghetto get up and "fake" attitude. However, my opinion must have been a popular one, because she was reviled in the media and by the public alike. She was pretty much hounded out of the country and her life was made a living hell, she received death threats, some one just randomly attacker her for no reason out in the street and bust her nose, just because she likes and performs sh!t music...harsh. Felt very bad for her after that. Then she left the country and went to America, the yanks love her and she is mopping up over there and releasing huge albums and making a shed ton of cash. good for her! just as long as I dont have to listen to her music
I dont know her personally so I am not in a position to deny or confirm that. Her music is ****, and she dresses like an N-Dubz reject. But on the other hand she did tell Cheryl Cole to go f**k herself, so she wins props for that.
Reading some of the reviews from her tracks. UK Review: "Coming across like a sink estate answer to the Black Eyed Peas, the track combines a shouty, tuneless verse with a chorus that riffs on ‘Oh My Darling Clementine’. All blended together with the subtlety of a cut-and-shut Vauxhall Nova." US Review: "The album is delightful confirmation that she’s the freshest, not to mention spunkiest pop artist around. Lloyd raps her verses a la Nicki Minaj before showcasing her singing in an extraordinarily charming chorus. Cool as can be and sassy to boot, Lloyd is here to stamp her small yet authoritative footprint on pop music’s world stage" Different tastes I guess
Plus there are what, about ten times more people in the states than in the UK so the moron **** taste in music pool is much larger.
Aye. I also think its because here in the UK, we are more aware of the vile culture she represents. With young white kids dressing up like hookers and pretending to speak in Jamaican accents. and clicking their fingers. In America they probably just see her as an artist from the British Ghetto. Notice how as soon as Tulisa made it on to TV, she ditched the fake black accent and prozzy outfits and started speaking like an Eaton graduate and wearing ball gowns!
