We are lucky we play the worst team in the league first, remember your best player is one of our worst, and although our squad needs stregthening, there's not 1 player in Bermondsey could improve it.
Hockawally appears to be the equivalent of Steve Lomas at Millwall last year, unproven and unliked by the fans. If (when) the season starts badly, the manager will be getting plenty of flak and it will be very difficult to arrest a decline/slump in confidence amongst the supporters and players. On a positive note you have a chairman who is scouting the players, rather than a manager (like HR of QPR, and many others) who will be persuaded by agents 'close to him' to bring in their 'own' players. You can assume that MC is in it for the long haul which will provide stability for your club, which in turn will translate into a better team and improved performances and league position, so in reality it is a matter of sitting tight and waiting for your fortunes to turn around. It may take a few years, but you cannot build sound foundations on sand, so just sit tight and wait.
It's a good post, knocked me for 6. No offence EIO, just wasnt prepared for you not to be taking the piss!
We always talk sense in Sarf London, you should agree with me and you should be WORRIED August 9th is approaching fast.....get your worry beads out
If your sat next to a northerner smiling as Leeds win on the 9th,in the Dockers stand don't get grumpy its only me.
I said the better players we are trying to sign, only the keeper started on Saturday and Hockaday did state he is going to start with his strongest team, the team he expects to start against Millwall Define a quick fix? If the season started tomorrow and the transfer window closed we would be relegated I have no doubt about that. I would like us to sign 2 quality players on three year contracts, I wouldn't call that a quick fix. I totally agree but at the same time I don't want to see us drop into League 1 So if we lose to them will you start worrying?
Sum or not, well said and a near perfect description of where we are. Fans expecting all the wrongs of ten seasons and **** owners and some **** managers are deluding themselves if they think it will all be put right in two months cos it wont
I read we really wanted Daniele Cacia who signed for Bologna instead of us and so we switched our attention to Robert Acquafresca who is now out in the cold due to Bologna signing Daniele Cacia Robert Acquafresca - His goal scoring record is awful.. http://www.insidefutbol.com/2014/07...-gain-robert-acquafresca-compensation/152084/
Did he say that or is that a press interpretation of what he said. The new right back had a good game when he came on and allowed Byram to get forward. Derby,Burnley etc have taken a few years to build there team.I expect us to take till November-December before we start to play our best at least. To say we've only got 2 weeks to sort it out is a quick fix.
As football supporters we are all in the same boat, we are all disappointed most of the time, every match/season starts with hope and usually ends in frustration, so when we have a good day/season we are ecstatic. As I said we are all in the same boat, some of us in First Class (Millwall) and others in Passenger Class (Leeds, Rochdale, Forest Green Rovers), just hope that you don't get lost overboard this season
Only two weeks left before the season starts, Cellino has been in charge a lot longer, we should have had problem areas filled by now. I hope I am wrong but remember this conversation and see how you feel if we are sitting bottom after 3 games and a team full of foreign players who do not like the cold, wet and mud and cannot keep up with the pace of the English game
He comes from Calgliari - he has scored 40 goals in 191 games in Serie A which isn't that bad, BUT he hasn't scored sin November 2011 That's some drought http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/robert-acquafresca/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/35703/wettbewerb/IT1
