Terribad too. Ajax played Benfica on Saturday and he was absolutely dreadful. Poor passing, no vision, runs around like a headless chicken, slow, lacks intelligence on the pitch and I can go on and on. The only thing the kid has going for him is his strength and his work rate. But with poor positioning, passing and pace those two attributes are useless. Never liked him and probably never will, can't see why he is so hyped up in the past couple of years. Always injured, played only 2 or 3 really good games in the past couple of years, for the Eredivisie level he is still a very mediocre LB or CB.
A lot of people are worried about the defence, but I'd be concerned more about scoring goals.. our first choice defence with two/three recruits would be good, but I'd hope for a bit more in the way of goals. Pelle Tadic and Isgrove is worrying...

Stefan de Vrij looks bound for Italy, De Telegraaf reports that Lazio Roma have upped their bid to 8.5 million euro's and that Feyenoord have accepted that offer. According to the newspaper the 22 year old defender can sign a 5 year contract in Rome.
