I have said a few times recently that I'm dreading the first few games. Not because of the results, but the fans. If we don't win 2 out of the first 3 games our fans will go nuts, which will do my head in. Enjoy the ride; support your team and above all else, get to the ground and make some bloody noise. COYR
Too right. I've played PES on/off since it first came out. If I hadn't started new campaigns with new editions I'd be in season 2104-05 and Mitchell Le Tissier's great grandson would be my star player, by now.
Ah, just remembered what my first reaction to the thread title was. I thought we were in for John Ruddy. Honest..! Sorry Lamb.
I thought we looked pretty good against Bournemouth. Yes, Championship opposition but we controlled the game, had a good shape and pressed high and the team contained none of the known want away players. We definitely need new players and a lot of them, but I didn't witness a clueless/uninspired team
Yes of course he nailed it. It was a post of logic and reason. I don't think it's the core reason why people are annoyed though. I think it's because they are grieving over the break up of the best team Saints have had in over 10 years, and possibly more like 25. Because this time it wasn't supposed to end at 8th place. Now it still might not, but we are a lot less sure than 6 months ago. I never wish the summer away, but I would trade a few days to get the replacement players in quickly. And someone needs to break Lovren's legs [no, I don't mean that ].
I don't get this incompetent owner/board thing. So far the only incompetent thing I can see they have done is let Ralph Kruger speak to the media.
Morning all. Feel a bit less rabid this morning and Beef is right. Just two things. 1. Why does it always take us so long to land players and 2. The Board came out with statements a month ago that now just make our club look stupid. Why doesn't Reed or some-one issue some sort of explanation. That said lets get behind Ron and the squad and for starters take 3 points from that Liverpool lot! COYR!
They've sold three home grown players, two of em at the very start of their careers. There is no way to put a positive spin on that.
There is NO positive spin to what is happening. We are selling our established players, as well as the youngsters who should have been the backbone of our future. Yes we have cash, but spending big money is no guarantee of success - look at Ramirez and Osvaldo! The names being bandied around do not fill me with confidence that we will be a better team next year than this! Yes, its clear that players don't want to be here, but that is after they have seen the others move on, and seen the Board show that they will accept a high bid for anything that isn't nailed down. Kreuger and Reed could have just said that these players were not available at any price, just as Liverpool did to Suarez last season. Suarez was desparate to leave, but was told NO, and he knuckled down and played the season of a life time for them. They only sold him this season as he took up cannibalism, and that doesny quite fit the cheeky chappy 'Pool image! They have engineered this situation, either by incompetence or design. I am not in "meltdown" or "wetting my pants" as some will accuse me of, but looking at the situation calmly. We might buy decent players who will gel quickly and form a good team, but there are few signs of that happening at the moment. I look at Kreuger, and Rupert Lowe doesn't seem quite so bad!
Usually read every thread if I can, but can't be bothered anymore. Didn't even read this one all the way through. Stop the world, I want to get off.
We dont know but maybe this is what Ron wanted. A chance to build a new team. Im confident we'll buy well just wish we'd get a move on!
The results won't bother me too much to start with. The players we get in will take time to gel so I'll only be angry if we don't sign good enough replacements.
Positive spin on Shaw and Chambers leaving. Nearly £50m. That's Staplewood paid off and Pelle and Tadic bought.
