It's not about what I know or don't know. I just don't act crazy when a sitaution comes up. It can lead to massive egg on face for one. Until the **** Big Ben bongs on Sky Sports News I will still be positive. If by then we haven't got the players we are after I will then start to be negative. I don't see the point in getting worked up over some players leaving that some posters have been saying will leave for months. At the end of the day the players that are going don't want to be here. Why should we care if we sell for high prices? Yes it means a big rebuild job, We may not finish as high as last year but as long as we don't go down I don't really mind. After all it is the club we support not the players. As Channon said, gone are the days were players are loyal, they are all in it for themselves. I trust Kat but just feel her and the board have been naive with the sitaution they are in. I feel she wouldn't do anything to destroy her late dads dreams. Yes it may look that way atm, but can't we just wait and see what happens? We all support Saints and even if some of us moan and say we give up, we never really do. I support Saints the club not the players that play for us. You may feel times are bad, but there are other clubs and things in real life that are far worse. Can we try to be a little more positive? Maybe?
Ah, fair enough. Well it is about what you know to some extent... you've said yourself that you've expected a lot of these departures for months so obviously you've had more time to come to terms with them than most people on here have. As for Kat, so far she appears to be incompetent both in terms of running a club and incompetent in terms of appointing people who do know how to run a club. The best thing about having her as owner was/is her billionaire status. If she's not prepared to spend that money on the club then it appears she's not much use as an owner. I'm coming round to Joe's point of view, it may be best for all involved if she sells the club.
Southampton Football Club have issued the following statement Footballers who want to leave a football club for a bigger & richer football club get their way, so all you can do is get as big a fee as possible. This has happened since the dawn of time in football and it always will. Statement ends.
How much money is enough? £100m? £200m? took almost a billion for Man City to win the league, same for Chelsea to win the Champions League? Should she spend a billion just to satisfy you that she has the club's interests at heart? Or would you then demand two billion?
Whatever happens, this season promises to be quite a giggle. Yes, I'm a sadist. Or a masochist. Or both.
I never suggested she doesn't have the club's interests at heart. I'm questioning her competence, not her intentions. If you're not prepared to spend millions you need a higher level of competence than if you are. Abramovich for example isn't some genius club owner - in some ways he's terrible - but his billions have bought success. An incompetent owner who isn't prepared to spend their money is worthless.
Ok well you'd definitely go back to the sneaky backup save you made at the start of the transfer window.
