Yeah, I was very please for Gaston. I love him. And Steven Davis. I'm proud of both of their achievements at international level.
Worst thing that could have happened. I did slightly fear it when they did. My eldest brother, who knows zilch about football, but a lot about human nature, said... You watch, that Gerrard bloke will be on to them telling them to come to his club because they have ambition. Or words to that effect. And he was right. Shaw went to ManU because they waved an almighty big pay packet in front of him, otherwise he may well have gone to Liverpool as well, in my opinion. I'm sure they'll all be in some Warrington night club on occasions, wondering why it's so bastard cold and wet all the time.
I'm really proud of our players who represented England....can't wait to cheer them when they run out at SMS?? Oh sh*t they've all f*cked off!!! F*ck em. To be honest I didn't give a **** about the world cup or any of our players who were there. I was delighted Lallana didn't start games as expected by the pundits, Roy obviously noticed his thoughts were elsewhere.
In addition to Gerrard it was pretty obvious that Hodgson was telling them to move to champions league clubs. They all do it the France manager, whose name escapes me the Water Carrier bloke? He'll have told Schneiderlin to get to a champions league club as we'll. Apparently you can't be a good footballer unless you play for one of a dozen European teams. Brenda Rogers is spouting the absurd line that Lovren will 'progress and improve' now. Really? How's that then? I can only assume he's talking about his bank balance.
I look forward to Roy's continued squirming under the spot light. England are crap, but he's just managing to highlight every deficiency. The one good thing that has happened to us this summer is we won't be seeing him down here again.
Its all Roy's fault. He didn't want to pay for a season ticket at Anfield and SMS so told the Saints players to go to Liverpool. Stingy bastard.
Perhaps not entirely, but it's often a combination of things. I suspect being on the International scene played its part.
Okay, I'll concede that it probably didn't help, but the players that have gone had their minds made up well before the WC came along. Plus the likes of Chambers.......
Yeah, you're probably right. I just wish we had more than speculation to debate on. Fans have to put up with far too much rubbish. I see the likes of Graham Swann [yes the spin bowler] and Jamie Murray [yes, his tennis doubles playing brother] have tweeted their concerns about Saints. Swann reckons we could buy Messi now.
Or more accurately, them playing in the World Cup and moving to better teams is for a third reason...they are good.
And the fans outwards from the stands to those wearing our shirts in the pitch. My bet is we won't have everyone signed by the WBA game and the atmosphere will be pissy with some muppets booing the board and or the players. There'll be a Kat out poster somewhere and I'll be embarrassed. It would be ****ing great if thousands of Saints fans showed the footballing world that St Marys is a great place to play because the atmosphere is great. We should really focus in making the atmosphere electric, but we won't as too many people will be moaning.
Crikey, don't I know that. I know that I used to go on about Cortese being the biggest asset in the Club and all that, but it's at times like these where you just know Saints would be building upon last season instead of putting out fires. If he came round the corner with a bag of money and investors I would cheer from the rooftops. I know that's not going to happen, but I so wish it would. We'd have our identity, our vision and ambition back immediately. And Saints fans would know no more or less than when he was last in charge. But I'd feel we were in safe hands again.
