True, as did Aspas last year but I'm pretty confident he'll be better than both of them!

Sterling & Markovic do seem a little deeper rather than playing high up as part of a front 3.

Wonder if the strong wind is any reason why? we're playing against it.. don't know if it makes as much difference in pro football as it does on a Sunday down the park <laugh>

Can and Hendo more infront of Gerrard and taking it in turns to burst forward and support.

Top header from Skrtel then to clear the danger.

Got work in the morning so I'm off to bed, where I'm sure to have horrible nightmares in the form of Glen Johnson. Truly shocking player, and in a slower paced, less intense friendly game no less. I am seriously terrified at the thought of him being our starting RB come season start.

I remember a game we played a few years ago. We were 4-0 up at HT going with the wind. We lost 7-4 in the end. 2nd half we didn't get into their half once.. wind was so strong it was ridiculous <laugh>

This is pretty dull. Organised in defence but not even a trace of midfield creativity. Bloody wind doesn't help.

  11. We had three games in one season where one side took a 4-0 lead with the wind only for the game to finish 4-4 <laugh> Having said that, one of them was a cup game so actually ended 5-4 to them after extra time <grr>

I think Markovic will take time to settle into the team and grow with decision making like Sterling, but he's certainly got ability and bags of pace. Serbian Sterling, basically.

Can I'm not so sure on yet. I think he's unsure what his role is when playing alongside Henderson and Gerrard. Very little creativity between the three though, so we'll definitely need Coutinho to be playing in the midfield against tougher to break down teams. I'd like to see Coutinho on for Gerrard and see Can a little deeper in the second half. See how that works.

    Coutinho, Allen & Robinson on.

Can, Markovic & Enrique off I think.

Wish Suso was on the bench rather than Coady. Offers far more

  20. Yeah, I've lost interest now Can and Markovic have gone off. Only wanted to get an idea of what our new boys are like.

So, on that note, I'm off to bed <smooch>
