But overall that squad does not fill me with any excitement. It's got quality and could well be very efficient but I just don't see it having me sitting on the dge of my set waiting for the next amazing passage of play.

I think Markovic Sterling Sturridge with Lallana/Coutinho is pretty exciting. All young as well, Lallana being 26, Sturridge 24/25 and the others all under 21.

Sorry, I don't agree. Defences now know about Sterling, Coutinho and Sturridge. They also learnt how Lallana likes to operate. That only leaves Markovic and he isn't going to fill the void left by Suarez.

So I ask again, where is the magic?

So? Teams played against Suarez 2 seasons ago.. didn't help them last year? What you've just said is that once a player ha played 1 season in the Prem, they don't offer any excitement <doh>

  6. Not feeling excited about it is one thing but your logic behind it is somewhat questionable since Suarez was known too. Of course, so was Studge and Coutinho since they joined six months prior to last season starting

I expect Lallana to start ahead of Markovic.

Different positions. Markovic will play wide, Lallana will play centrally.

    Very happy with the signing.

He is a very good CB and I expect he and Sakho to pair up.

    Need RB and striker now.

Lallana would drift in creating a diamond point at times and could also play false 9.

If we sign Isco I'm almost certain Rodgers see's Lallana as a false 9.

    Only for three matches.

Lovren in, Agger out - losing your best defender, replaced by a a good CB with limited ability on the ball

<laugh> you seriously think Agger is our best defender?

Agger is the best on the ball, but at defending he's actually quite suspect. Can't mark for ****, and goes to ground when tackling far too often which is easy to get round. Add the fact hes injury prone.

I like him, but he's not progressed from the 21 year old we signed all those years ago.

  18. 1) Agger's not been his best for about four or five years
    2) He's never been our best at any point
    3) he's not gone any where (yet)

Lovren has the same kind of passing stats as a top midfielder.
