I try to avoid monopolies and general rip offs so I try not to buy Nike.

Always quite liked adidas products and that 96 shirt. Lovely!

I use Copa Mundial classics too which are awesome!

Where is Reebok in your list? Quite often sponsored us.

To some extent, but kits make money by sales. Mots people will buy a kit no matter what it looks like, but a lot of people will only buy it if it looks decent. If you never buy a kit you might not care as long as it's not a fake tuxedo kit, but to the club, it could be millions that is lost if the kit design is poor.

You said it already, most people will probably buy a kit regardless of how it looks. Whether it's the home, away or third, they'll buy the best of the bunch. Kids will want a kit even if it was polka dot with green stripes down the back.

It's Warrior who stand to loose money from poorly designed kits; we still get our money from them as per contract and we get very little (if any?) from kit sales.

I absolutely hate Adidas cookie cutter shirts. If I can pick up an adidas training shirt from any sports retailer, iron an LFC patch on it and pass it off as the real thing - that tells you how much thought and effort went into it.

We had a red version of Chelsea's blue version of Madrid's white version.

Now I don't see how being the same as everyone else is the Liverpool way. Warrior have really done well with their home kits so far, and their away kits actually grew on you as the season went on.

In terms of sponsorship, I feel that the money United get is the first of a new round of sponsorship deals. As in, soon, the top teams around the world are going to start getting the same deal and even better as time goes on. United as an early adopter will benefit from more money now but in 7 years when clubs may get 100m per season instead of 75 they will be locked into their deal. I don't think 750m over 10 years will be abnormal soon for clubs with massive global followings.

I remember Thomas and a few wearing it.

That's just the away kit of the one I mentioned I think.

I don't think the home kit had the option of circle collar though.

    White one is nice mate!

Is that the season we lost to Derby on the first day?

    Edit - no.

Yeah it is, that's the one I had rather than the home kit.

Also hd the green one from a few years later, and David James's Orange keeper kit <laugh>

Warrior makes ugly kits... no doubt about it!

The thing with Adidas though... you never have a Liverpool kit. You have an Adidas kit with a Liverpool badge on it. They're boring... they all look the same. Probably pub-league teams wearing the exact same kit minus the sponsorship and logo.
I personally don't like Nike- they make overpriced crap!

Overall though... I don't care. Which ever brings the club the most money... be nice if they made a shirt that wasn't so bloody expensive though!

/ will never pay £100 for a shirt by the way. (in todays £... I know in 30 years £100 will be worth £10 in today's money)

    Our kits are never £100
Ones on the LFC sure are £45 which is pretty standard I think.
