One tiny flaw I think I've spotted, in your comparison, Beef. Owen was around for ages. It didn't just seem that way.
I ment in terms with other players careers, both start getting noticed young so seems they were about far younger.
Ah yes. Quite right. Yes, Ings does seem to have been about for years. Then again, I first heard about him within the Saints Academy, and that he'd been let go. Then he popped up in Bournemouth, and the rest was history. Ancient history..! I thought he was unfairly bad mouthed by several Saints supporters back then, when we played Bournemouth. He hadn't asked to leave. He's developed very well since, so I'd be really happy to see him back.
He wasn't considered good enough to make it, I understand. The Cherries gave him a chance to prove us wrong. The Saints Youth/Academy setup doesn't always get it right. Notable examples include Kevin Phillips and Dennis Wise. Both came back eventually.
Sometimes as simple as being a late developer or even that we had players better than Ings at the time. Good on him for pushing on after the set back.
Cracking player imo think he would do a fantastic job upfront with pelle, and let's be honest he wouldn't get his "head turned" by you know who when they come stiffing. Sign him up quick.
Replace "with" with "ahead of" and I'd agree, though he probably would still get his head turned if he was offered Champions League
Ok Dan "ahead of" I'm not so sure he would go for CL,unless he really was shoved out of the club,he seems a really level headed lad who respects where he is. But I could be wrong.
He'd not force a move like Twatbeard and Lovren, but I don't know how far loyalty goes for anybody these days.
Ings has been angling to come to Saints for a while...can't see him suddenly changing his mind after one year.
Danny spotted in Marchwood area this morning (not by me) Could be false Could be true but innocent Could be well, you know
