Trying to find out weights for the Arc; checked my previous Arc programmes but of course the weights are in kilos. Can anyone tell me the Arc weights in stones/pounds.

Thanks, just worked out from a conversion system found on the computer. Your 'weights' agreed.

Taghrooda will receive 8 pounds from Treve, 3 pounds from Australia and Sea The Moon and 11 pounds from the three intended Japanese runners; must have a great chance.

Think I will have a look at Gold Ship at 20/1, watched the Takarazuka Kinen on youtube this morning. Very similar race to todays.

See you at Longchamp stick, and anyone else who's going. Can't miss this one.

Already booked for Nurnberg. Hope the only bookie in town is still open; if not will try and watch the race in an Irish pub. Other option is day out in Munchen where I definitely know a bookie with horseracing.

Good luck to anyone visiting Longchamp; especially those going for the first time.

Bustino, I've just seen your comment about stud fees. Were you asking what Galileo's fee currently is? No one seems to know for sure, apart from those paying it, but I heard someone say a few years ago that it was €300,000. I wouldn't be surprised if it was higher by now.

Galileo has had a very good start as a sire of sires, don't forget as well as New Approach he is also the sire of a Sixties Icon, who was a leading first crop sire despite limited opportunities, Teofilo and Red Rocks, who has made a good start in Italy. Rip Van Winkle has also been doing well with his first crop.

I did say that there was not going to be much activity in the Arc market unless something put up a stellar performance.

I should have backed Taghrooda at 50/1 when the original entries came out. She had won the Pretty Polly at the Guineas meeting at that point easily. Fortunately after the Oaks, I did have the sense to have a small punt at 16/1, so now that she leads the market I just have to hope that she shows up! I am something of an ante post Jonah when it comes to the Arc.

Taghrooda best priced 5/1 as I look now ahead of Sea The Moon and Treve at 6/1 and Australia at 7/1. I still do not see Australia going to Paris.

That is some boost for Sea The Moon. He could be a monster.

You can still get 6/1 Sea The Moon. Looks a solid ew to me. I see one bookie is offering 14/1 Orfevre. Is he having a laugh?

Previous G3 winner and horse beaten 5L in Prix du Jockey Club well beaten. Ground and distance would have been perfect for Noble Mission so there can be no doubting this form.

I backed both Sea The Moon and Targhooda for the ARC well before this weekend so feeling a wee bit chuffed. Unless Fabre discovers another 'Rail Link' or Treve returns to her best should have a wee bit coming back. Would be just my luck if Japanese had their first ARC winner - boo hoo!!!

I would question how much of a “boost” that was as the trip was different to when Noble Mission was just touched off in the Grand Prix de Saint Cloud by Spiritjim. Unfortunately I did not see the race so it would be unfair to try and comment on Lucky Lion’s efforts.

Taghrooda now a best priced 9/2, Treve available at 7/1, Australia available at 8/1; so there have been some market adjustments since I posted earlier.

They will probably give you a price for Nijinsky if you ask them. If they can get Orfevre out of the breeding shed, they can surely reincarnate him.

We Are at 25/1 might turn out to be the each-way steal.

Sea The Moon's price on the 'collapse'.

We Are just back from an operation but agree she could be anything.

    Avenir Certain a runner?

Still have a feeling about the enigmatic (I have heard) Gold Ship.

Tell you what, I don't care how many millions they've made, if they don't send Australia to the Arc they're a bunch of ****s.

The Arc rarely appeals as an ante-post medium for me.

Gosdens filly is rightly favourite and won't be out of a canter to win the Yorkshire Oaks.

The Arc is shaping up like a really good event with this years 3-y-o's,fillies at least, bringing something to the table.
