Promising. Quick and fearless. Got a great cross on him. But, needs to work on his positioning defensively and mix it up a bit going forward. Basically he tries to get to the touchline as quickly as possible and put a cross in, that's his offensive game. Defensively he is quick too, so he can make up ground, but he's got a lot to learn at the back.
Plenty of promise and has very good attributes like quick pace and passionate. But needs to work on his positional awareness. Hopefully this will come with more experience.
He's Arsenal through and through. The only thing is Chambers is at a considerably higher level then Jenkinson was at his age. Will Jenkinson get the games he needs - should we bring in the Southampton man?
It's difficult to understand Wenger's logic if the reports about Chambers are true. He would seem to be perfectly willing to spend £15 million plus so that we can have 3 good RBs competing for a place in our first 11 but unwilling to spend so that we can have similar competition regarding our strikers. Sanchez can play through the middle but he's not an out and out striker. Chambers, Debuchy and Jenks are RBs first and foremost. Giroud is a competent first team striker, but Sanogoals and Campbell are inexperienced and unproven. Also, in our system the loan striker role is hugely important and we need more than 1 established out and out striker to compete for this place in case of injury, suspension or a drops in form.
You make some good points however, both henry and RVP were not strikers initially and sanchez has a lot of similar qualities, personally i think he could easily play up top and probably will if and when walcott is fit. With regards to chambers, he has been bought for the future and is a long term investment, i have not seen much of him but apparently he can play at CB, and could be used as our 4th choice CB?
I think it's a fair point about Sanchez, especially as it seems unlikely that Wenger would bench Walcott just as he is starting to fulfill his potential, I hadn't considered this before. Maybe Sanchez will play upfront from the outset?
I think jenkinson could become a very good player but is some way from ready to start week in week out for us. Hopefully jenkinson gets a loan move to get regular football but it might be that chambers is being brought in as cb cover. He can play along the back 4 so he adds depth to our defence, so it might be that jenkinson remains second choice rb.
As for Sanchez I'm waiting to see where he plays. He may have been brought in to play cf or as a lwf.
I hope this isn't true as I think he's got a lot of promise and strengthens our squad. I think if we keep him Wenger can then concentrate on improving Chambers as a CB. But I suppose I'm just being greedy and just assuming everyone will get gametime
Walcott is starting to look like a crock so I'm guessing Sanchez will spend most of his time wide right He'll be playing left when walcott's fit unless Chamberlain or Cazorla can find some form
It is too high to be a loan fee for Jenks but deffo too low to be a transfer (unless there is a buy back or huge sell on clause but even then). So I call bullshit.
Agreed, I'd want at least 6-8m plus a healthy sell on fee. He's young and English so, going by football logic, worth sh*t loads!
