    Been told that Reed knew nothing in advance about this new contract and it was all rushed through inside a couple of days.

    Now, surely the club isn't daft enough to try to use a nipper signing a new contract as some sort of smokescreen to placate fans for all the bad news about departures and struggling to bring in new players.... would they?
